As I was driving a loud noise came on inside the car my abs light and brake light came on and then my brakes failed almost causing a huge wreck and from what I have read it is the abs accutator or brake accutator which I guess is the same thing but apparently a lot of the Toyota Camry Hybrids are having this issue where the breaks are failing and causing accidents but yet there are no recalls for it and apparently the part cost 2,900 from Toyota which is insane when it should be a recall because it's a major safety issue.
Vehicle was in motion going straight on a city street, and "check vsc system" notification turned on. Brake light, abs light, and (!) all came on. Brakes became shaky when pressed.
A while back I was driving on a residential street my vsc message came on and I notice a jerk in the tires if it was sliding, so I immediately pulled over turned the vehicle off hoping it could be a sensor failure so after sitting for 5 mins I turned the car back on notice the message wasn't there anymore I then begin to drive the vehicle for a good 5 mins and the car did the exact thing vsc message came back on the car begun to feel like it was sliding so I pulled over again sat about 10mins this time, turned the car on the message wasn't there I start driving 5 mins later the same exact thing happened again.
I got in my vehicle today in the vsc light came on. I have researched over google, and everything points to a $3,000 repair, or a recall repairable by Toyota. I would like to see if I am eligible for that recall repair.
Few days ago while driving - the warning "check vsc system" indicator came on with four warning lights - brakes, exclamation traction control, abs and skid control. Suddenly brakes started acting strangely and soft and jerky. Took the vehicle to fred anderson Toyota and after diagnostic test was told that it is code 1392 which requires replacement of abs control module (the cost to replace was quoted as $2875. 37 - we declined to get it fixed. Called Toyota customer service - they reviewed my complaint but declined to help.
I was driving my vechicle yesterday that was just in the shop since Saturday saying that they replaced everything that was wrong because previously my breaks locked up on I-95 and I couldn't stop. I got the vechicle back yesterday and I was driving home from work and my breaks failed again causing me to rear end the person in front of me. I could not stop. Absolutely no breaks!! the vechicle was in motion trying to come to a complete stop. I believe the abs break aculator / module in the vechicle is bad. The company whom I bought it from I believe should take responsibility for this accident considering they're the ones who stated they fixed the vechicle.
My car has all of the light on dashboard is on and on screen it says "check vsc system".
Wife and kids were coming home and brakes went to the floor and abs lights came on. Took the car to a mechanic and mechanic stated to contact Toyota for open recall and service campaign. Toyota is no help whatsoever.
My wife and I bought a certified Camry Hybrid from the local Toyota dealership. Even though there is a buzzing noise from the original purchase, we assume that because it was a hybrid that that was normal. For 4 years we have brought our camry to the same dealership for oil changes and regular service needs. Never in the time had the dealership told us there was a problem with the buzzing sound. Recently the abs and vsc lights came on so we took the car in to see what the problem was, after the dealership told us but the cost would be around $2,100 I decided to see if I would be able to do it myself and after googling the part I looked under the hood and saw that the noise we have been hearing for 4 years is coming from the same part that needs to be replaced.
The brakes on my 07 Toyota camry went "soft" and the brake light came on when driving at about 35 mph. I pulled into a parking lot, waited, and the prob. Went away. A few days later, the brake light, traction control and abs lights turned on, and check vsc system displayed when at a red light on a residential area (25mph). I took the to Toyota for the second time, and they said it was an abs issue, actuator and 4 brake fluids. The cost to repair it is $1926. 54. The dealer advised me to call Toyota, which I did, bc there had been problems with braking in 07 and 08 Toyota camrys. Toyota was incredibly unhelpful (this despite my owning two Toyota Camry Hybrids), even though Toyota had issued two extended warranties because of the issues with intermittent loss of assisted braking reported by many customers, the last one through July of 2017. The woman I spoke to insisted that since the car experienced the problem "out of warranty" there is nothing Toyota was willing to do.
While driving I saw check vsc system lights come up and it off after some time.
When driving one day with my new born in the car, the lights associated with my brakes all came on. Following, my brakes started reacting funny when pushed on the pedal. The dash said something about svc system check vsc.
Check vsc system lights comes on and car stops on road. Restarts after powering off and on.
Got warning check vsc system and all abs, engine, brake lights are on.
The check vsc system error came on recently. It also came on a few years ago and then went away after a few days. It's now been up for weeks. The error that is triggering is c1391, and the repair shop says this is due to an abnormal leak in the accumulator. All of the brake-related lights are on constantly a few seconds after starting up the car and stay on until shutting it off. Sometimes the brakes randomly shut stop functioning as expected and do nothing when compressing. I didn't realize this was a recall when the car was still under warranty (and even after Toyota extended the warranty due to the fact this is such a wide and pervasive issue); otherwise, I would have taken it in to get it repaired as a precautionary measure. This repair was quoted to cost a minimum of $2,200. It would be ideal if Toyota would fix this part since it is a known issue and since no other major part of the car is faulty, even though the car has almost 200,000 miles on it. I feel Toyota has put lives at risk by not actively pursuing to contact owners of this model vehicle since the part they put on these cars is so faulty.
The engine started to burn oil excessively about 1 year after I purchased the car in 2013 and now in 2018 there are 2 cylinders with low pressure and the dealership has told me I need a new engine. The car is not giving a code : check vsc system and the car cuts completely off while driving, no control of brakes or acceleration, very dangerous. I was traveling on a city street and the car just cut completely off and all lights and bells illuminated on the dash board. The oil consumption problem ultimately burnt the engine up and Toyota would not repair the car.
Brakes depress more and take more pressure to brake. 06/4/2018. Car vibrates when braking over 50 miles per hour. Brake fluid reservoir was replaced 10/22/2016.
When I drive this car I press the brakes and they do not engage or they engage on a delay. . While driving I attempted brake to slow entry into uphill driveway. All lights on driver panel lit up. Brakes did not respond to slow down or stop. With full force I depressed brake pedal. This is happening from last couple of months.
Faulty abs controller affecting everything from the battery charging, ac, abs and vsc control system worse case causing brakes to fail.
While driving down a busy city street the 'check vsc system' message suddenly appeared along with many other warning lights on the dash and a warning sound. Braking and steering became very difficult. Luckily, I was able to pull over into a parking lot and get out of traffic. My car has had every manufacturer scheduled maintenance service performed for the life of the car.
Takata my 2007 Toyota hybrid has been behaving badly, with just 190k miles. My traction battery monitor would show 7 bars falling to 1 bar instantly. Instantly, as I would be looking at it and it just dropped that fast. It would get parked with a full charge indicated and then the next morning one bar. Sometimes it goes into e mode and shuts off while driving on highway ive been close to crash with other vehicles. The ecm throws a warning, "check hybrid system". I borrowed an actron scanner that had the capability of basic hybrid codes and one code was present "p0a80". Also, check vsc would show all the times. Somewhere I read this is normal with p0a80 as the ecm shuts down the vsc to conserve power. .
Today, December 11, 2017, while driving my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid vehicle on a city street in traffic, the 'check vsc system' warning came on. All dash lights including 'brakes' came on and vehicle became difficult to stop. There was no power assisted braking. Brake pedal was hard to engage and when vehicle came to a stop, there was a single "knock or bang" sound. This warning had come on previously without braking issue until last week when my wife told me she had a similar problem driving home from work. I cleaned and subsequently replaced the gas cap as per a you tube described repair of the check vsc warning. I then drove the car intermittently since that time without incident until today. My wife experienced the problem 12/7/2017.
The vsc warning system came on including several warning lights. The abs actuator failed. I am told this is a known issue but is out of warranty and the repair is $1500-$2000. This should have been recalled.
The hybrid batterie is not responding with the cars velocity. It turns off in the miďdle of my trip. I worry for my saftey and my families bcus I fear to have an accident due to that reason.
"abs actuator extended warranties", in 2014 my car had two issues with the abs actuator and my dealership was unable to get the diagnostic code from them. Now my car is displaying "check vsc system" and many lights on my dash. When I brought it in to my Toyota dealership they said it is the abs actuator and it needs to be replaced. Toyota had 2 extended warranties for trouble with the abs actuator. Both of these warranties have now expired so my abs actuator cannot be fixed under the extended warranties. Because of this faulty part at anytime I am driving I can lose braking and steering power. I had filed a complaint before with your agency for this exact issue but there was no way for me to have the part changed when the extended warranties were in-force because the problem did not occur and as I said earlier my dealership could not get the diagnostic code from the first time these issues occurred.
"abs actuator" Toyota knows there is an issue with the 2007 Camry Hybrid abs actuator, my dealership informed me 10/23/2017 that my abs actuator is going out. If this happens it will be hard to stop and or steer my car which is a very dangerous situation. I want to be sure this issue has been lodged with the NHTSA.
When I start the car brake light is on and after few minutes message comes as check vsc system and its not going away.
Check vsc system as well as abs and tire lights come on. Known issue with Toyota. Had a maintenance program, but won't help me because it didn't start to occur until 1 month after expiration date. They don't send notifications. You have to wait until the problem occurs which could be after it causes an accident!.
The vsc system is out and no one know how to fix it even the dealer it not showing up on the scanners . I was on the freeway the car lights con on on dash. No breaks it was scary I didn't know what to do if a. Next car or cars was infrount of me I will have been real hurt because I was going 60 to 65 mph I had no control. Of the car can you all look into a recall on this before someone get kill !!!I was locky I was calm not everyone will be calm. . . . Takata recall. . .
Vehicle was stationary with the engine on. In 2014 Toyota issued a warranty enhancement notification - ze1 for the brake actuator assembly issue. I took my car to the dealership and the problem was corrected. A month ago (2 years later) the same exact symptoms occurred (same 5 warning lights). I called Toyota and they said since my vehicle was already corrected, the warranty enhancement ze1 no longer applied. Seems to be a recurrent problem that Toyota should warranty.
Abs actuator has failed. Several lights are on and the brakes are failing.
My car Camry Hybrid 2007 have all light master warning light, brake warning light, controlled brake warning, anti-lock brake system, slip indicator light. Also the brake is so hard that I was close to hit car, I call Toyota in orlando, florida but they toll me they don't have any recall and normally is ecu pedal stroke sensor and abs module system, both parts cost is $3,500.
I was driving on the free way the first time this event happened to me. My brake light came on indicating that my brake was on I pulled over to check it and my brake was off. When I went back on the freeway all of my warning lights turned on and it was very hard to brake I had to press the brake pedal really hard to even get my car to stop. The warning lights will stay on for about 10 minutes or so and then the brakes lock and come to a sudden stop. I took it to the Toyota dealership who sold me my car and they ran a diagnostic and could not find anything. The second time this happened to me it became quite dangerous. The brake light came on again while I was on the freeway going 65 (the speed limit). I was being very cautious with my car since that happened. All of the warning lights came on again. I was on a freeway ramp merging to get onto a different free way section. I could not brake to slow down. Finally when I pushed the pedal hard enough my brakes locked and I did a 360 almost hitting two cars passing me. My car is at the Toyota dealership right now they do not know how to fix it. I don't feel safe driving my car like this after it did the 360 at 60 mph. Please help I submitted pictures of all the lights that come on the picture is missing the abs but the abs light comes on as well. I also submitted what I think is the problem also.
