Driver side visor will not stay in place, permanently in dropped position, hampering vision.

2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid drivers side sun visor will not stay up. It flops down into the drivers line of vision, which leaves the driver feeling like he/she is driving a tank. Last evening I nearly hit a motorcyclist because the flopping visor limited my vision. We have tried to fix it, stick it up into place, etc. All to no avail. I understand this is a common problem with camrys.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The contact stated that the driver side visor fell from its housing and would not remain secured, obstructing the driver's view of the roadway. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 66,000.

The driver's side sun visor of my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid suddenly broke causing it to swing down and completely block my vision. Attempts to swing the visor out of the way failed as the visor is completely loose and swings wildly when turning. I have tried using tape to secure the visor in the up position, but eventually the tape fails. Additionaly there are no directions or easily detectable wat to remove the visor. After calling Toyota I was informed it would cost $308. 70 to replace a part that should never have failed (especially with only 4 years of use). I have read online that this seems to be an issue that numerous Toyota owners are having and wanted to document my troubles.

We have a 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. For no reason the drivers side sun visor flops down causing a visibility hazard. Dealer claims this is rare, internet shows otherwise. Drivers side sun visor suddenly broke, obstructing view while driving. The visor will no longer return to the upright position and flops toward the driver. I am afraid in an accident I might slam my head directly into the sun visor, so I think this is a serious safety hazard. Contacted the dealer, and they want $260 to replace with the same visor. Looking online, this appears to be a common problem, and I should expect the replacement to break as well, including the passenger side eventually. Please ask for a safety recall before someone gets hurt! in the meantime I intend to remove the visor and just drive without one as there is no safe replacement available and Toyota has not addressed the issue despite numerous complaints online. Just google Toyota sun visor problem and you will see several models with this manufacturing defect.

2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. . . Both sun visors fail at the pivot point and fall down, blocking the drivers view, while driving. Both Toyota and their respective dealers refuse to honor their warranty. They call the visors 'trim pieces' making them ineligible for warranty. I maintain that having a slab of material fall down and block the drivers view due to a defect at 36,000 miles constitutes an unacceptable safety hazard and should be corrected immediately. In several email and telephone exchanges, Toyota representatives dismiss my claim with canned, scripted replies. They won't even listen to reason. This is a well-known and widespread defect on this line of cars. If it hasn't happened already, someone is going to get injured or killed in a collision caused by a sudden blocked view of the road. Please help!.

Severe sun glare reflecting from the brushed stainless steel appliques applied to the dash, center console, and front door panels interferes with driver and passenger vision to the point of being a driving safety hazard during some lighting conditions (high sun angle during the may-September season). The appliques act like a mirror and can direct the sun's rays directly at the eyes causing temporary vision problems. The vehicle is a 2007 Toyota hybrid "50th anniversary edition" with special factory upgrades (including these appliques). To my knowledge only 2500 cars of this type were manufactured and sold. Toyota denies a problem exists and states the car was "certified" for sale by the NHTSA. I have digital photos of the glare conditions that I could email to you. Please advise. I am removing and replacing the appliques with non reflective material at my expense. On a recent long trip it was necessary to cover the reflective areas with maps, a purse and other items to avoid the glare. I would appreciate your help. Thank you.
