1 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2019

TSB-l-sb-0144-11 sticky/melting dashboard the car is 6 months beyond the date of the warranty enhancement period. Since the condition of shiny stickiness of the dashboard did not come to my attention until after the enhancement period, I believe that I am nevertheless entitled to the repair of the dashboard by Toyota and that coverage should be also extended to the replacement of certain ancillary parts related to the replacement that might be damaged as a result of the warranty repair. There is no valid reason that the warranty enhancement should have expired as this condition is dangerous and needs to be corrected on all affected vehicles regardless of an arbitrary period set by Toyota.

2 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2019

Melting dashboard and driver's side visor does not stay up. The melting dash causes a glare on the windshield causing visibility to be obstucted. I was told that I missed the warranty period but have never been sent anything about this problem.

3 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2018

My dashboard is melting. When it solidifies it becomes extremely reflective and obstructs the windshield view.

4 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2018

While I was driving at about 65 mph on a four lane divided highway, the driver's visor suddenly and unexpectedly rotated completely down, blocking my view out of the windshield so that I could not see ahead. It was a dangerous and frightening situation! I had to keep control of the car while holding the visor up so that I could get home safely and then get the car to the repair facility. Toyota knew that this safety hazard existed and was serious because it did a "warranty enhancement notice" for 2007 to 2011 Camry Hybrid sun visor brackets, but this expired for my car in may of 2016.

5 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2014

I have 2 complaints. 1) I was driving in local traffic when 5 warning lights appeared: master warning light, brake warning light, electronically controlled brake warning, abs, slip indicator. I was surprised but my brakes continued to work on the drive home & to the dealership the next day. The lights never went off (some other owners have reported the lights go on & off). I do not have cold weather conditions (50s in Dec). The dealership investigated & found it was consistent with the problem covered by the warranty enhancement program (pol14-04 or NHTSA 14001) for the brake actuator assembly & skid control ecu/brake pedal stroke sensor, & also an open recall on my car for a separate item with my brakes. My car symptoms were: when stopped at a light, the car would roll forward by inches unless I had my foot firmly depressed (knee locked); noises which sounded like air moving through tubing while braking; noises that sounded like a "pump" activating after my car had been turned off (up to 15 minutes). 2) Toyota has an open extended warranty (csc 10046281-9238) on the sun visor assembly & sun visor bracket including the 2009 Camry Hybrid. My car has had this same problem for ~4 years: the driver's side sun visor will not fully go up & remain there. Most of the time it rests halfway down but from time to time it will come down with no warning. This blocks the driver's field of vision. What is frustrating is that I spoke to both the dealership & the Toyota customer service center who both agree my problem sounds exactly like the problem described in this extended warranty. However, the part number for my car (74320-33c11-b0) is not listed among the accepted parts number, and my VIN doesn't match the listed vins. I hope corporate Toyota will look into this and extend me the courtesy of repairing my sun visor! (dealer cost ~$250).

6 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2014

Dashboard on my 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid bought in florida new has become a danger to driving do to the shinny and stickiness on the dashboard. Back in August 13, 2014 I noticed when driving in the daylight the glare from the dashboard distorts your view the problem it seems to be getting worse I called the Toyota dealership where I bought the car and I told the service manager the problem he said they know about it and there is nothing they can do. I went to a car detailing service and they said it is the worse they seen he also checked on the website for a solution, now it is up to NHTSA to force Toyota to correct the problem before some one gets killed.

7 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2014

Sun visor on the driver's side of the car no long stays up, consequently it blocks my vision when I don't want it to. Checked with my dealer and he said there is no active recall on this issue. Frankly, this defect is unsafe and unacceptable.

8 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2013

My dashboard appears to be melting, it is sticky and causing an awful glare on the windshield which in turn restricts vision through the windsheild, please help, Toyota says there is nothing they can do?.

9 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

I was driving home on CA highway 80 west from work when suddenly, my driver side visor dropped down in front of my windshield. I am disappointed with this Toyota part because it has been an issue since I purchased this model in 2009. This visor does not seem to return to it's up position completely since 2009. Now, in 2013, this visor has completely failed to return to it's upright position and can obstruct my view when I drive. I wish Toyota would replace this visor since it is a "safety" issue when a part can obstruct the driver's side. I am also part of a carpool for my child and this will definitely be an issue when I drive several kids in my car.

10 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2011

The dash on the camry becomes very tacky and reflective, especially during warmer weather. Obscures vision through windshield due to glare and reflection. Also concerned of any toxic fumes which may be released due to this chemical reaction in an enclosed cabin of a vehicle.

11 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2010

Driver side sun visor falls down unexpectedly. Will not stay in place except for full down position. This has been since the car was new. Was searching for how to fix it and found link to here. I understand that this is a common problem with all Toyota visors and is due to bad design and poor materials. Toyota does not stand behind it and the replacement visors are the same junk as original.
