We have had all four door lock actuators replaced. . . Before 40,000 miles!!! and all within six months of each other. . . Ugh!!! but at least they were under warranty, thank god, because if they weren't, it would have been $1,700. I know this is a very common problem with Toyota products, I guess they just have very weak door lock motors. This is the order they went out drivers, rear passenger, front passenger, and rear driver. Before they actually went out, they would intermittently not work. You could see the door lock indicator trying to move, but it couldn't move all the way into the locked or unlocked position. It seemed to happen when it either was super cold or super hot outside. What was super annoying was if one door lock didn't lock, the entire car unlocked itself. So you would walk away thinking the car was locked, when it really wasn't. Eventually they just quit locking and unlocking all together. Other than that, the car has been flawless. We absolutely love the car, we are Toyota people for life! however, I figure if enough people complain about them, Toyota will recall them or do some sort of service bulletin for them.
