Two problems related to electrical system have been reported for the 1996 Toyota Corolla. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Tl- the contact owns a 1996 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the suspension was unstable and that there was a rattling noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign id number: 10e002000 (suspension). The contact also stated that there was an intermittent electrical short in which the fuzes shorted. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop and the mechanic diagnosed that the dashboard would need to be taken apart to replace and rewire the wires that were faulty and causing the fuzes to be blown. The mechanic replaced the fuzes. The brake light also stayed illuminated due to a failure that was progressing. The contact also indicated that the brake pedal had to be pressed completely to the floor with force to completely stop the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was not available. Dyd.
Intermittently the rear brake lights will blow out. The dealer has replaced the socket and the condition is reoccurring. Feel free to provide any further information.
