Two problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1999 Toyota Corolla. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Was traveling 30mph, road was wet. Applied brakes to stop. Vehicle went into a skid. Rearended another vehicle. Upon impact, the air bags failed to deploy. Driver suffered a cracked sternum. Passenger received bruises from seat belt. Driver was hospitalized.
Intermittently when brakes are applied brake pedal becomes soft and goes to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance. Dealer has been notified.
