general problems of the 2004 Toyota Corolla

The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Corolla. While driving approximately 30 mph, the front driver side air bag and the engine warning indicators illuminated continuously. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,040.

My 2004 Toyota Corolla had an unexpected acceleration while driving home from work. My mother (the driver at the time) removed her foot from the accelerator pedal and while breaking the vehicle accelerated at full speed right before going over a speed bump near to our residence. My mother crashed into the side walk and she was able to stop the car using the parking brake and eventually shut it down. We were able to take the car home, where the car is currently parked but the car won¿t start again. Luckily, we didn't have any injuries, fire or mayor crash into anything. We contacted Toyota in west palm beach florida and they refused to further investigate this issue because the car is too old. After all events, death and accidents related to Toyota unexpected acceleration, I believe this incident needs a deep investigation but I don¿t know how to proceed about it or if I should ignored and just fix the car.

When reversing, the shift cable broke and car began rolling. Even in park, it would not stay parked. Had to engage security brake in order to keep the car from rolling away.

Every time it rains and creates a water puddle on the road, when I drive my car through it, water goes up under the car causing it to lose power, to momentarily shut down and I lose my steering. The battery light comes on as well. Also when I come to a stop the car starts shaking or vibrating and it seems like it wants to shut off.

The vehicle I believe has an ecm (engine control module) problem. Since the first incident where the vehicle wanted to shut off at a stop light, the vehicle erratic rpm fluctuation when the vehicle is at a stop or hesitates when taking off. Toyota has done a recall on some of the 2005 thru 2008 models and I believe this model should be included since it uses the same ecm and has the same engine as the other models.

The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Corolla. While driving between 5-10 mph the vehicle shakes violently. Also the engine continued to reeve while idling. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility for inspection. Since the mechanic could not identify the cause of the failure, he could not provide a remedy. The failure mileage was 2629. The current mileage was 4300.

My car on an intermittent basis will not start as well. . . . . There is no cranking whatsoever. Although upon turning the key all the lights on the dashboard light up in a normal manner, there is absolutely no sound from the engine. After either a few tries or roll starting the vehicle (manual transmission). . . . It will start. I brought it to the dealer once and they originally thought it was the battery, then the starter *which they proceeded to replace, then after a few days the same problem occurred again. . . . I am bringing it back to the dealer.

2004 Corolla ce has horrible rotten egg smell car has only 550 miles on it. Dealer say to switch gas brands. I did and it is still overwhelming outside of the car.
