Odometer on 2005 Corolla s stopped working at 299,999 miles. Will not roll over to 300,000. This has been a topic of discussion on many Toyota vehicle online forums and has been an ongoing issue for many similar makes/years/models. There were no prior warnings/messages related to the odometer not working any longer when it reaches any certain number. Several mechanics I have spoken to, including Toyota service advisors, have told me they are aware of this issue. No inspections have been done. Why would Toyota place an odometer in any of their vehicles that will stop working after reaching any specific number? they have prided themselves as cars that will go many miles. Why would they not disclose this to any Toyota owner? why should the owner be liable for repairs on this issue when we did not install the part? why has no recall been issued over this matter?.
Unknown.
Transmission sensors problem a number of sensors that are being indicated as not working when a computer check to done by a macanic at repair shop. Request ed recall checks.
Last week while I was driving my car the airbag light came on. I was so worried for my safety to drive my car. I went online to search if my car had a airbag recall and it did. I made an appointment with the Toyota dealership to do the repair. While I was waiting there they told me that my car had another problem, I was supposed to replace the spiral cable (code b1811). If I didn't replace that the airbag light was still going to be there and the airbag wasn't going to work if I replace them . The horn on my car hasn't been working for so many years and I didn't know that was connected with the spiral cable assembly. I paid $510. 22 to replace that. I'm the only owner for that car. Toyota company should have a recall for the spiral cable because it is connected to the airbag and we as a customer should not pay for replacement. My car had 11 recalls so far. Other Toyota's have recalls for the same problem but not with 2005 year old Toyotas.
Symptoms happened several times when I was driving on the highway. When I pushed the gas at approx. 50 mph, the car is not gaining speed, instead, the car was losing losing power. Earlier this week, my car stutter after the input of gasoline. My check engine light came on yesterday and I brought it to a local parts store for a code read. The code is p0741, solenoid circuit.
The 2005 Corolla was slowed down for traffic ahead on the highway and rear ended by a driver, who then collided with another car. After being rear ended the 2005 Corolla then hit another car. The air bag as deployed and the driver (the only person in the car ) was not alive when first responders arrived. The at fault driver then rear ended another driver (who survived). Unknow the fault or problem that caused the unsafe condition. We received a noticed months later of a recall of front passenger air bag.
"takata recall" no incident has happened yet.
While driving on pr highway, within 10 mts, the car's engine stopped having enough time to park the car on the emergency side road. When I saw smoke coming out the hood, I grabbed by belongings and walked away from the car. While I'm calling my husband I saw the car in flames. On Dec. 28, 2015 I submitted an investigation with Toyota of pr in relation to the fire on my car on Dec 24, 2015. Until this date I haven't received any response regarding their case # cr29601. When I call customer service critical cases coordinator, her only response is that I will receive a written notice from head office. I've being 2 month without a car to get to work and I feel frustrated in the manner Toyota has treated my situation even when I authorized them to pick up and examine the car after the incident. By the way I still have the burned car in front of my house in case they need additional data. I will appreciate if you could guide me as to my rights or options being that the car was in excellent conditions and I expected some kind of reward or voucher from Toyota to at least help me obtain another car from them. Window bolt attached to regulator broke and window won't roll up correctly and rattles. It is the front passenger window. Same issue that was in the 2003 Toyota Corolla model.
I was traveling 70 mph on the freeway while a car came to a complete stop in front of me. I slammed on my breaks and got the car to slow down to approximately 55 mph before hitting his car in the back. My head hit the steering wheel from the impact of the crash. The radiator is busted, the bumper came off, my frame was bent, my headlights are off, my car dented so far back the front doors wouldn't open, and my airbags didn't deploy.
This problem has occurred frequently since the first event: for no known reason, engine rpms drop to point where vehicle barely moving. Can shut vehicle off and restart and problem goes away. Check engine light comes on but no help in diagnosis. Been to dealer several times. Replaced ecm and tried other possible "fixes". So far, has only occurred in rural areas at speeds of 35 mph or less. Fortunately not much traffic. Check engine light will go off by itself as problem "fixes itself". A potentially dangerous situation but no answers from dealer or manufacturer.

I turned on my car and it began to accelerate itself, the indicator stopped and held on 4,000 rpm.
In September 2013 I had my car inspected by my mechanic and it passed inspection. Then in December 2013 I needed an oil change. My mechanic suggested I winterize it, so I did. He did the following: changed oil and filter, lube chasis, flush radiator, added new antifreeze, rotated tires, checked brakes, dax cool; cabin filter: removed old cabin filter, cleaned out air box and installed new filter; fuel injector clean: cleaned and flushed injector system; belt - removed and replaced listed belts, adjusted tension; battery - checked charging and staring system, installed new battery and cleaned cable ends. I dont know if it was because of what was done above but periodically my car would not stop immediately at a red light it skidded a little. Then eventually my car would speed up on its own so I would have to brake and then drive at a really low speed. Then on April 2, 2014 I took my car back to my mechanic and he checked 4 wheel brake and hydraulic system, cleaned and adjusted brakes, toped off fluid. Every time I did bring my car into the mechanic they would road test it and tell me the car is now drivable. However, when I would drive the car it felt as if I had to no control over the car. Saturday, April 5, 2014 I took it over to Toyota and they did a general inspection, they told me the battery is fine, they also did an oil change, afix sticker and reset maintenance reminder. They test drove as well and told me everything is fine. However, as I drove this past month I felt as if I had no control over the car. My foot was not really on the gas pedal. Before the winterized I would drive all over town and would put my foot on the gas at the level I wanted it to go. Now I do not put any real pressure on the gas pedal and the car seems to go on its own.
While commuting one summer morning, my vehicles a/c went from blowing cold to hot air instaneously. I then went without a/c for a period of two weeks, luckily I was on tdy and did not have my young children. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they said a rock punctured the a/c condenser. Toyota has issued a technical service bulletin(ac002-06), indicating that the a/c condenser is not properly protected.

. . To whom it may concern. A relative of mine received a recall letter on my behalf from Toyota for my vehicle. My relative said he sent it to me by mail. I contacted Toyota really concerned because out of nowhere my air bag light came on, my cruise control stopped working and horn. I have had a recall before which was serviced in August of 2011. I decided to contact Toyota about the letter and if it was okay to take in car without letter. They ran my VIN# and stated that the recall for my car has been serviced. I asked why I received a letter of recall and why out of nowhere my car is starting to have some malfunctions that can be a risk to my life. I no longer feel safe in this vehicle. The rep at Toyota said to go in to service center-but I do not have the money to pay out of pocket. I need help and would like this resolved for the safety of my family and my vehicle.
Unknown - the airbag light has been on for a while. Check engine light is also on, and after a few repairs/replacements of diagnosed issues the light remains. A texas vehicle inspection report shows a p0420 fault code that will not go away, as well as a p0741 fault code about a torque converter clutch circuit underperforming or is stuck/off. I have a technical service bulletin from the inspection station that reads as follows: 10051865 date: 04/16/2013 Toyota: in a collision, to help reduce injuries, with seat belt pre=tensioner and supplemental restraint systems (srs), it's possible that the devices may or may not perform as expected with unintended deployment.
The back seats do are not able to be opened from inside the car. The trunk also malfunctioned and will not open up. If there was a child or someone in the trunk, they would not be able to get out without pulling apart the whole trunk itself. I find this very dangerous and makes me grateful one of my children weren't trapped inside when it decided to stop working properly. I would like to find a resolution to this matter so the safety of others is not compromised!.
A/c condenser which went out on Monday. I've discovered that Toyota issued TSB ac002-06 admitting that the condenser is flawed. However, because it was not recalled, they are not responsible. I am having it repaired because I live in new orleans and the heat is unbearable. This is a totally unfair practice. I think that these issues should be illegal since they've admitted the flaw. I was told that there is no protection for the new condenser. It was corrected in the 2007 model but not the 2005. I am livid at the fact that Toyota is so uncaring about the 2005 owners. I should be reimbursed for the repair ($677) and, also, advised as to how I can prevent this from happening again. Where can I find mesh to protect the new condenser?.
I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla. There is no shield to protect the ac condenser which was hit by a rock and now has a leak in it. The cost to repair the condenser will run 500-600 dollars, but if there is still no shield installed to protect the new part then the same thing will probably happen again. In models after 2005 Toyota has installed a piece to protect the condenser, they should be providing this type of part to the 2005 models without cost.
