2 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2014

As I approached traffic lights, I had to apply the breaks as yellow light was on but the car was still accelerating. Even after the breaks were completely applied, it went forward. To my bad, it was a snowy day in my place and my car skidded in to the left turn lane, got crashed in to the other car. My car's front bumper, head lights and couple of other parts were replaced for which I have spent $500 out of my pocket and the remaining amount was paid by my insurance company. Luckily there were no injuries to me, my 7 month pregnant wife and the other car driver. Obviously my insurance premium got increased, my driving history was affected and car value is decreased due to accident history. My car tires and breaks were in perfect condition when this incident happened. Now I am afraid to drive my car especially when it approaches traffic lights I feel extremely nervous. Whenever I recollect this bad moment I feel depressed. Please look into the issue. Requesting Toyota to do the needful to remove such defects from their vehicles.

5 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2010

I own a 2007 Toyota Corolla. If it is windy on the freeway when I drive, I get blown all over the road. I have literally been blown of onto the shoulder of the road or into the other lane. Passing semi-trucks is also extremely dangerous in windy conditions. I look for similar movement in other small cars while I am driving and I do not see them being blown all over the road so I think that this must be a problem special to the Corolla. I is extremely scary when I'm traveling the posted speed limit on the highway and my car gets completely blown off of the road. The steering is so loose that I feel like I have very little control when being blown around by wind, and in reality, I probably do have very little control. Please look into this. I would be willing to place a bet that there have been fatal crashes involving Corollas under windy conditions.

6 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2010

I own a 2007 Toyota Corolla which I bought in November 2006. Since that time I have had nothing but problems out of my vehicle, from cosmetics, to vibrating steering wheel, air conditioning issues, leaking struts, alignment issues, and most recently the ecm. I was driving to the store, and right before I turned into a busy intersection my car shook, and then the engine shut off. All of the lights and service indicators came on, and then shut off leaving only the check engine light on. I tried to start my vehicle again, but nothing. My friend had to help me to push the vehicle into a nearby parking lot. There, I was able to start the car again, and so I headed home. Just as I got to my house, the car shut off again, and right before it shut off, it wouldn't even give gas. I had my car towed to a nearby shop, and after checking the entire car and doing a diagnostic, I was told it was the ecm and that it would cost 650 to repair (and that's for a used/rebuilt one). I called Toyota, and they said that it was covered under warranty up to 80,000 miles. I am just under 80,000 miles thank god. The guy I spoke with sounded as if he wasn't surprised of the issue. I am having my vehicle towed to Toyota today, and I guess will see how this all pans out. The bad part about it all is, what if they fix the problem and it happens again? and what other issues are there that they know about and their consumers don't. Plus, who is going to pay for peoples time off work for these repairs, and their inconveniences? at this point I am very disappointed in Toyota! I wanted to purchase the 2010 Toyota Corolla next, or the Lexus rx320, but I will definitely pass on that now!.

When he called the manufacturer, he was told that it was normal for the struts to leak and they would not assist with repair expenses. The VIN was unavailable at the time of the complaint. The current and failure mileages were 45,670.

8 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2010

Consumer has stated that his 2007 Toyota Corolla pulls to the right while driving.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/09/2010

My 2007 Toyota Corolla feels like it is floating when I am on the highway and driving above 60 mph. I thought it was wind or tire pressure but I corrected the tire pressure and it still does the same thing. It only happens when I get up to a higher speed and not on regular roads or in the town. It did not do this for the first year and a half that I owned the car but it has been doing it regularly for the past 6 months.

10 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/01/1901

2007 Toyota Corolla poor steering issue the consumer stated the vehicle swerved back and forth at interstate speeds. They dealer told the consumer the vehicle needed a rear end alignment. The second time the consumer went back to the dealer, he complained of wobbly steering, so the dealer balanced the tires. The third time, was the same as the second time with the steering. The fifth time, the consumer went to the dealer he stated the problem was worse and seemed to get more worse after an interstate trip of 50 mph or when the tires heated up. The consumer also stated when driving the vehicle at lows speed, it seemed to wobble. When the consumer went back to the dealer three of the four tires were out of balance. The dealer also stated the rims could be the cause of the poor steering. The dealer agreed to replace one of the tires, however the problem was still not resolved. The consumer went to get a second opinion and they agreed there was a steering issue. The consumer went back to the original dealer and they agreed to remove the tires and rims from the vehicle. The new tires and rims helped, but the vehicle still swayed, but not as bad as before. The consumer stated he read a newspaper article where a person who worked in a California plant that made Toyota Corolla's was in trouble for making accusations about others passing off faulty front ends. The consumer no longer owns the vehicle. Updated 04/14/10.
