The odo meter of my Corolla 2008 model has not been functioning since around November 2021 when it stopped at 299,999 mile. Recently in August 2022, I asked a Toyota dealership, named fox Toyota located in rochester hills, mi, to fix the issue, but they told me they couldn't do it and I needed to look for other repair shop. Then I contacted Toyota brand engagement center and requested them to fix because it appeared to be a Toyota manufacturing or design issue. They also refused their responsibility to do the repair. I attach the photos of odo meter and vehicle. Please have Toyota take corrective actions on this issue. Thank you for your support in advance.
Multiple times my car has slid on the pavement upon an abrupt stop. Deer in my travel routes are abundant. But on June 2, 2020 I heard a noise as I was driving. It appeared to be a suspension problem. I pulled over and inspected the car. The tire having over half it's tread threw a belt or had a huge bulge in the tire. It went from a noise to a load grumbling sound and a lot of vibration very quickly. The sliding was ongoing and I assumed because the car was small and light but never had this sliding effect from multiple other small cares I've owned. Then the tire bulge. I researched the tire and it appears cooper tire has major issues with their tires but this tire size I did not see as a recall. (mst p185/65r15 mc strategy bw 88t(n)) if I were on the interstate I could have lost control or flipped the car at a fast speed. Speed limit was 45mph where the tire separation happened. I'm now scared to death to even think of using a cooper tire. I can only imagine that as a novice driver this would cause multiple accidents. Fortunately I have driven professionally for multiple years and know to prepare for the extra 20 feet or more skid that is not preventable with these tires when stopping abruptly. The tire were professionally installed July 2, 2012 with 23126 miles on the odometer. Now miles are 46184. I can provide picture and tires purchase receipt if needed.
While car was in reverse car jumped into drive gear and struck other vehicles parked in front of my vehicle.
We received noticed back on 2010 that our vehicle has a recall regarding ecm but when we contacted dealership they said our vehicle is not affected. I just put my VIN number in this website and it shows two recalls open in my vehicle.
Was pulling into a parking place to go shopping around 1 pm. It was clear and sunny at the time of accident. There was a speed bump right before the parking spot so the car was going slow and as I pulled into the parking the spot the car suddenly accelerated causing us to hit a brick wall. I was turning left into the parking spot. Car was damaged to the front end and the wall to the strip center. My mom was 89 years old was shaken up and checked out in the hospital. Thankfully she was ok. My husband came to check the car and it was drivable so he took it to fred hass Toyota in spring, texas. They told us it could be up to 2 weeks before they show up to check the car. He called Toyota and filed a complaint. They gave us a claim number and told us they would call us Saturday before noon. We never received a phone call and I hope they will take care of our claim. I will not be driving this car again. We are the only owners and bought it brand new with all of the service done including any recalls at fred hass Toyota.
I purchased my car as the first owner in 2008 paid cash. Within a few years an engine light came on and they said it was the transmission. I kept up with all maintenance. I had purchased an extended warrantee of which was still valid and because the dealership could not find what was exactly wrong - my warrantee would not cover no replace and I was charged over $1500. I took this to bueru of automotive and they ruled in my favor so now I will be suing your company for monies owed on top of other things due to the company not being willing to give me my money back or fixing my vehicle. I have been a loyal driver of Toyota vehicles forever and a transmission should never go out in first 5 years - my car is still on the road but does not go backward - so there is something obviously wrong with this model amongst other things. The dealership manage to break my hood and the stick of which you put your car into drive with. I don't know if it is just clovis Toyota or what - but I am truly disappointed as to you how your company has handled my situation. Not only has your company robbed my family of a christmas, hard earned money as a single parent but also put us in danger. My air bags are bad as well and I never received notification and when I put my VIN in way back when- it said nothing was wrong. Ridiculous. My car is just a mess and unfortunately - I love my car. It has been most faithful and god is good to me and my family - but your company has not!.
Upon starting my car, on this particular morning, I noticed a revving sound. It didn't sound like anything normally related to start-up, but I assumed that maybe it was a momentary glitch. I switched the car into reverse and the revving sound increased. It sounded as if someone had floored the accelerator. (I was later asked how many mph. To me, it sounded as though I were going about 50 mph. ) while in reverse, and with the increasing revving sound and rpm, my brakes locked on me and the dashboard lights all came on. I was able to shift back into park and shut off the car. I contacted Toyota to inquire about any recalls on my car and explained what had taken place. I was told by the corporation that there were no recalls and to bring it in for servicing to the dealership. The dealership pulled up a service history report showing that they had done a recall repair on my car several years earlier. They dismissed my claim, saying that they could find nothing wrong with my car and that it was driver error. The service manager refused to submit a report for investigation into unintended acceleration, stating that he believed that an increase in rpm is unrelated to acceleration. He also made several attempts to sell me another car. I appealed to the corporate office for Toyota recall. I expressed my concern over the safety of my vehicle and the risk of continuing to operate it. Their sentiments were, "what do you want me to do?". Over a several day period, Toyota stated they could find nothing- even with their advanced diagnostic process that they insisted I underwent. I took my car to a third-party certified mechanic, who was able to identify that part of the problem may have been related to a battery leak and a terminal that needed replacement. I do not feel that Toyota took a genuine interest in my issue, due to the lack of opportunity to profit from my problem.
The engine light is on and when check there is problem with catalytic converter.
I have been complaining since November 2012 to the Toyota dealership about when driving vehicle feels like accelerator pedal gets stuck and vehicle keeps accelerating without foot on pedal. Every time I took it the gave me the run around about dirty gas line and charge for service not really needed. In February car broke town because of system throttle was replaced and still had same acceleration after 3 weeks from repaired. Was driving home with my 2 month son after dropping my wife at work and my car started to get acceleration pedal problem and vehicle lost control and crash into 2 parked vehicle. Son was ok I was bruised with black and blue around seatbelt area and pelvis and just left knee pain for now. Went to hospital from scene and car was totalled. Would have never had problem if dealership listen and didn't brush my car to side and fix problem car had warranty.
I had an accident last December 27, 2012. I was driving 40-45 mph on a two-way street and hit a large sized donkey. There were at least 5 or 6 big donkeys on the road that showed up from nowhere. My airbags did not deploy. My windshield was damage. The front side of the car was damaged and the inside parts too. . The car was a total wreck. The mileage on the car was at least 130, 000 miles. I got bruises and some cuts on my hands. It was very traumatic and scary. Thinking that airbags will protect me during a crash but it failed. I can send a picture of my damaged car if requested.
Approached stop sign at moderate speed and put on brake. The engine sped up to the point that both feet had to brake hard until engine idled down. Pushing gas made no difference during this time. This has occurred a number of times.
