1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2021

My check ingine light came on. I had noticed the slippery when wet light came on and the vcs light also came on. Since the catalytic converter seemed to be the problem. The gentleman at autozone diagnosed the car and told me about catalytic clean. I used that and the lights went off. I believe I was sold a crappy car. The dealership did nothing to replace or look at it. I had not even put 2000 miles on the car since purchased.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/15/2015

Im car sometimes try's to stall out while im driving or sitting at a stop light. It sounds like it is being choked out or isn't getting enough fuel. This has been happening on and off for a number of year's and the dealer does not know why.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/25/2015

The vehicle suddenly turned off while I was making a right hand turn. I was able to start the engine immediately in neutral. This has occurred 4 more times in similar circumstances. However, last night, while turning the car wheel to the left and right rapidly to avoid an object on the street, the car lost power. All the warning and control lights in the instrument panel were turned on for 3 to 4 seconds but the car started on its own. That is, I did not have to turn the ignition key on as in previous 4 occasions. I made an appointment with the dealer for tomorrow morning.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2014

The car seems to increase in speed even when applying the brakes. The electrical system is not functioning properly. The digital display radio seldom works, the anti skid control does not activate, the lights, both inside and out blink on and off, including headlights at night. The ac and heating unit cuts on and off. It seems as if the entire electrical system in the car is in need of repair.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2013

The gas pedal suck to the floor when accelerating with the cruise control on. I pulled off road, put car in neutral and shut motor off. Gas pedal was still stuck to floor. Tried pulling pedal up to no avail. Turned ignition to the on position and pedal still stuck. After stomping it several times gas pedal unstuck. You could here something underneath the hood release it. Definitely not a floor mat problem!!.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2012

This vehicle uses a drive by wire (dwb) accelerator. When you press on the gas the car lurches forward. This happened on a rental car in 2010 and still is a problem on the used Toyota I purchased. When I contacted Toyota they stated there was no recall information. They asked me to have the vehicle diagonized at my expense, which I refused to do. This is a problem and based on information on the net others are having the same problem. I have owned many cars and not one has had such a touchy pedal.

8 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2009

I bought a 2010 Toyota Corolla s on oct. 22, 2009. At bitterroot motors in missoula, montana. The day after I bought the car I drove it to ovando, montana, north of missoula, on a tryout road trip. I noticed that it was flighty on the road and seemed to waver without reason (no wind, no semi trucks, wind shear, rain, etc). Being a new car to me, I passed it off as the nature of a lighter and smaller vehicle than what I was accustomed to driving (my other vehicle is a 2004 Ford f150). Since that time, I have continually experienced this with no external explanation (weather, road conditions, etc). This problem seems to happen at speeds of 50 mph and over and it is a consistent issue. I commute regularly between stevensville, mt. , and missoula, mt. , for work (28 miles one way), and I often find that the car will drift left or right when I am at a steady speed. This is in addition to the fact that my vehicle is on the list of recalls for the recent accelerator issue. I need to add here that the second day after buying the car, I was getting fuel and as I turned from the pump to re-enter the car, "pop!!" and the driver side window totally shattered. I immediately called the dealer at bitterroot motors and drove it to their service dept to get it fixed. They replaced the window under warranty, and told me they suspected it was a preexisting stress fracture in the glass that finally gave. I bought this car based on safety ratings, consumer reports ratings, and to get better gas mileage on my necessary trips to and from work. It isn't hard to understand the stress of this situation, not to mention economic hardship. I paid for the car outright ($18,075) and it physically sickens me to think that such serious issues exist. I haven't even owned it 5 months! at this point I am fearful of even driving the car. If the world worked in good ways, Toyota would replace this vehicle completely, and preferably with something other than another Toyota.
