2 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/06/2017

There has been a recall on my vehicle for about a year with the passenger side air bag. This is getting ridiculous. My notice suggests to not have someone riding in the passenger seat until recall is fixed. I have a family of four so that is not going to happen. I don't have any other options. Is there any idea of when this is going to be addressed?.

5 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2016

The problem is with the passenger side airbags produced by takata. We were notified about this several months ago. A few days ago I received a letter from Toyota telling me that Toyota is preparing a remedy for these airbags and what I needed to do was not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat. I called Toyota up and was told that they do not have a remedy yet, and they have no idea when they will have a remedy. Their solution to this airbag problem is to put all passengers in the back seat. We have a family of five so I can not do that. Their solution of not having people in the passenger seat is not acceptable to me and should not be to anyone. I have a family car and would like to use it with my family. I can not do that. Thank you.

7 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2016

Takata recall zone a - g0p (interim g1p) red zone. Nhtsa recall no. 16v-340. I received a takata passenger-side airbag recall notice a year ago may 2016 when I still lived in zone a florida. Toyota says it still hasn't found a remedy, whatever that means, and keeps telling me I can buy a new car. As you can imagine, I have some thoughts on what Toyota can do. Newspapers keep reporting that a lot of people haven't taken their vehicles in for takata recall repairs. I believe the real problem is that Toyota is dragging its feet. My daughter's Subaru had a takata recall this spring and her dealer fixed it the next week! we both live in columbus, OH now. I have to haul my grandchildren so I am very concerned about how Toyota is dragging its feet.

8 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2016

Takata recall- our Toyota still has the recalled airbag in place with no estimated time from Toyota on a fix. We are only told not to have someone in the passenger side of the car and to wait for them to notify us of a remedy. This is going on way to long and it is unexceptable to not be able to use our vehicle. They tell me they cannot disable the passenger side airbag in the interim.

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the driver was traveling at an unknown speed and crashed into a curb. The front driver and passenger side air bags deployed. In addition, the rear and side curtain air bags also deployed. The driver sustained injuries to the face as the vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed of the incident. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer provided an investigator to further inspect the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 9,000.

11 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/27/2010

While making a left-hand turn, my wife, driving our 2010 Toyota Corolla, was struck by a driver running a red light. The other driver (in a Volvo wagon) did not see the light, nor break, striking the Corolla on the driver's side door and wheel area at approx. 35-40 mph. The force of the impact was enough to crumple the Corolla's door and wheel area, leaving the car totaled. No airbags deployed, not even the side airbags, leaving my wife with a concussion from the accident. The 2010 Toyota Corolla was purchased new this past fall, had only 9,000 miles on it and had sustained no previous damage or accidents. The mechanics at the autoshop where the car was deemed totaled said that they had no clue as to why the airbags did not deploy. Since the car was new, I am wondering if there was a defect in the airbags that prevented them from going off.

None of the air bags deployed and the passenger suffered bruising. The vehicle was totaled. The dealer stated that the vehicle was not traveling fast enough to cause the air bags to deploy. 14 Side/window Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2010

I was making a routine turn and lost control of steering. It only happened the one time, police report said car rolled two or three times, total loss to car and injury to driver. I don't remember exactly the cause other than I lost control. Can't say any of the recalls did or did not cause the accident. My primary complaint is that I paid for front and side airbags, and none deployed on a car that rolled two or three times. Why am I paying for equipment that is not effective? if a car rolls over at minimum the side airbags should have deployed. I would also think this would trigger the other air bags. With all the recalls how would we know if any of these contributed to the crash? I understand the rollover rating applies to the stability of the car, but rating the safety in a rollover accident should also be rated. Why don't air bags deploy automatically when car hits sides or the roof? we paid for safety and reliability of the Toyota, but it appears that the extra money is wasted.
