My Corolla flipped over upside down going 30 miles an hour. I collided with another vehicle that was stopped in the opposing lane of travel to turn left. We both barely were over center the line at impact that somehow caused my Corolla to roll upside down. Some how this did not deploy the safety airbags either. The airbags are not my complaint; but rather that I managed to flip upside down going 30 mph from a driver side collision. I’m writing in an attempt to understand why it wasn’t just an impact, but actually flipped the vehicle over. Also, why the safety airbags, which were recalled and repaired, did not engage upon impact. I just replaced the transmission 3 weeks prior to this bizarre accident, that may have totaled my vehicle. It’s still sitting in my garage because new investments had just been made to keep it in good shape for another year (transmission, tires, headlights, plate renewal, etc). I was planning to purchase a new Toyota SUV the following spring or shortly after. Unfortunately this collision has derailed all future ambitions regarding my mode of transportation and forced me to purchase an extremely old Toyota avalon in order for me to function in my daily life as a single parent. I am very fortunate to have escaped any serious injuries considering I was upside down, hanging from my seatbelt, and even more grateful that I had not gotten my 9 year old daughter yet. I was in route to pick her up around 4pm when it happened. I would love some insight or science as to why or how that could have happened. *side complaint- the grill of my Corolla has fallen off twice unnoticeably (and I purchased and replaced with a new one both times). Why are either the fasteners not stronger or why isn’t the bottom of the vehicle itself not stronger. It’s the flimsiest plastic which shouldn’t be used on something meant to transport the most precious cargo. I’ve noticed it is very common for many Corollas to be missing the grill piece since it’s become a “thing”.
While driving on the highway the sunroof unexpectedly exploded.
My car is equipped with a 2zr-fe engine and it is known issue for all those engines as it exhibit a mil "on" with dtc p219a (bank 1air-fuel ratio imbalance) present. Same issue with most 2012-2014 Corolla which has above engine plus 2012-2013 matrix (Toyota) vehicles this is very dangerous as whole engine vibrats and it makes trac off plus car will breakdown any time on the road way resulting critical situations.
My car burned I was driving in the freeway 80 west in California en them I just saw the smoke in the car I pulled over and them the car started burning we call 911 but it was too late, I dont think I was for the cooler was low because I check a week ago.
Kindly, my car is Toyota Corolla 2012, I purchased it from saudi arabia, and then I exported it to my mother country ( egypt ). It is manufactured to arab gulf specifications and I am the first owner, I am writing to complain about my car dashboard. Three months ago, I found that the dashboard began to melt and became sticky by the heat of the sun, in addition to; it creates an unsafe glare on the windshield while driving. After searching for a solution to the problem, I found that many costumers have faced the same problem and was solved by Toyota customer satisfaction. Toyota dealership in egypt "Toyota egypt" refused to replace the melting dashboard with a new one because my car is no longer under warranty, but regardless of my car's age, is the dashboard supposed to melt ! therefore, I want to know your response regarding this problem. Knowing that, I do not ever put any materials on the dashboard. Please find the attached photos. Thank you for your kind understanding.
Takata recall problems I have contacted the dealership on a couple of occasions. To try a schedule the replacements with no luck. They tell me "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available" does this mean I will have to wait until something happens and someone is hurt? this is not acceptable! should I contact my lawyer now?.
Unexpected acceleration, which almost caused a major accident at a gas pump. The car was in motion and slowing to stop at the gas pump. This happened once a few years ago while pulling into a parking lot. Very dangerous situation.
I was leaving work and driving on a curvy road going slightly uphill. I was in 3rd or 4th gear (not sure as I am writing this hours later) and driving at constant speed (around 35 mph) when the car began to accelerate. It felt as though I was driving with the cruise control and hit the up lever to accelerate. The pedal fell away from my foot and I immediately put in the clutch. At that point the rpms shot up to over 6000 and the engine raced wildly. I moved the shifter out of gear (with clutch still in) and coasted along for what was probably 30-60 seconds. At that point the accelerator pedal popped up and the whole event was over. I stopped for groceries and looked at the pedal and floor mat. I could see no obstruction and the mat seemed to be where it had been for weeks. Continuing on my way home I was driving on level road at about 30-35 mph. There was a car merging in and I sped up to get in front of them when it happened again. Again I popped the clutch, rpm¿s shot up, engine racing. This time I pried at the accelerator pedal with my foot and it popped up. The event was over in around 30 seconds.
Sudden unintended acceleration from stop. Put car in drive after backing out and it shot forward about 25' into a tree. Major damage to car. No injuries.
As I was driving on the freeway, another vehicle lost control in front of me and I collided with it. The front of my car impacted the driver-side/rear-end of the other vehicle. I was going approximately 60-65 mph. I was wearing my seat belt, but my airbags did not deploy. As a result of the airbag not deploying, I have pain, tenderness, and soreness on my chest, neck, and back from either hitting the steering wheel or the seat belt crossing my body. As a direct result of the accident, my car was a total loss.
I was going to park my car in an empty parking spot, was just in idle speed putting the car into the parking space when all of it sudden the car started accelerating by itself. Because of the acceleration my car hit the car that was park in front of me, the acceleration was so sudden and it pick up enough speed and force to move the park car three to five inches from its resting point. That is how the accident happen. Also the airbags did not open when my car hit the other car.
My husband was parking and the accelerator pad stuck resulting in the car lunging forward at a higher rate of speed flipping over. The air bags did not deploy as well. At the time we had no idea what happen. I saw online where a recalls were put in as well as compensation being offered to victims. We would like to know whom to contact about this.
Accident occurred when trying to park Toyota Corolla 2012 in a grass parking space. Driver (me) began to brake to get into the designated parking space, the engine revved up and the vehicle accelerated (as if it has a "mind of its own") until it struck the vehicle parked in front, driver continued to apply brakes but vehicle did not stop and vehicle continued accelerating; the steering wheel turned to the right and struck another vehicle also parked. Driver tried to stop the car by shifting to "parking" but it just made a loud noise and the shift gear was stuck. Car was towed to the collision center of the Toyota deal, and requested an inspection to check for mechanical failures. After many unsuccessful follow up calls, the collision center manager communicated on 02/07/2012 that: "there was nothing wrong with the car as they tested and they could not make the car replicate the incident," (the collision damage repairs were finalized on 02/06/2014. ) note: a recall notice was previously received for airbag sensor defect. Car was taken to the dealer for repair prior to collision. At the time of accident, airbag did not deploy.
1. While driving with ac on water was leaking down into the passenger side carpet. Dealer checked and found that the a/c drain hose was clogged. This happened on July 10th. 2013. Dealer did not charge for cleaning clogged drain. 2. On July 8th 2015, the same condition occurred and took it into the dealer. Dealer diagnosed a/c drain clogged and caused water to back up into the oxygen sensor causing the "check engine " and "trac off" lights to come on. Dealer now charged $252. 59 and stated that this is not covered by warranty. This is the second time and it is affecting the engine. I need to have this situation fixed before it occurrs again and cause serious accident or death to occupant.
Purchased Corolla le in 2012. In December started experiencing severe right side abdominal pain that let to various doctors, procedures, and diagnostic surgery. A pain management specialist determined on 6-12-13 that pain was due to Corolla's short seats and pedal positioning and that it causes chronic muscle strain in small-statured people.
2012 Toyota Corolla. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle damage after an accident. The consumer stated her daughter was driving, when a tractor trailer made a left turn, two cars ahead of her. Two vehicles in front of his daughter hit their brakes extremely fast, and his daughter was unable to stop in time, and she hit the truck in front of her. The consumer stated the air bag deployed as they should and protected his daughter. Only the front of the vehicle was smashed. However, the insurance company declared the vehicle a total loss.
