Two problems related to fail to accelerate have been reported for the 2016 Toyota Corolla. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Please also check out the statistics and reliability analysis of the 2016 Toyota Corolla based on all problems reported for the 2016 Corolla.
The car failed to accelerate properly when entering the highway. It would not exceed 45 miles per hour. Toyota is aware of this transmission problem as they had previously issued a service campaign bulletin to address the faulty transmission. However, they have since suspended the recall leaving drivers who are experiencing this problem at risk. The only apparent solution is to replace the transmission at a cost of $9200 which may be why Toyota is hesitating on issuing a proper recall. Unfortunately, I do not have $9200 so the car remains undriveable.
Tl the contact owned a 2016 Toyota Corolla. On several occasions, while driving various speeds with the acclerator pedal dedepressed, the engine revved but the vehicle failed to accelerate in a timely manner. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Toyota of york (1885 whiteford rd, york, PA 17402, (717) 755-2961) where no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was determined that an acceleration delay was experienced and the transmission was designed to operate in that manner. The manufacturer was notified via email and provided case number: 1712081065. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.
