The "engine maintenance required, visit your dealership" is displayed. The oil has been changed and tried to reset the warning as it states in the owners manual but it wont reset.
I own 2020 Corolla le. It has 50k miles. There is a message that keeps coming up in the infotainment screen and hinders the navigation information especially when I am looking for directions and evey second counts and not being able to act when the exit appearscan cause an accident. The message is caused by a dcm failure. Toyota should never allow a message like that pop up every time on the navigation screen. It keeps saying “ device connected not supported “ every few seconds.
Toyota 2020 coolant bypass valve circuit short.
Coolent bypass valve.
“engine maintenance required visit dealer” keeps popping up despite engine being fine. Another scan by my mechanic determined that the cooling bypass valve is having an issue/keeps getting stuck and triggering the maintenance alert to keep going off.
Coolant bypass valve bad cost $550+ to fix car is 4 years old.
There is a thing that’s happening to a lot of Corollas and I think rav4 and some cram it’s called engine maintenance required and a lot of mechanics don’t know what that means so you have to take it to the dealership to get it fixed and it’s like a $900 fix and it’s been happening to a lot of vehicles around 35,000 miles. It’s called the coolant bypass valve. There is hundreds of youtube videos about it and people complaining about it on forums.
Precollision system malfunctioning and hybrid system malfunctioning warning signs on dashboard won’t allow the car to move or driven at all. I read reviews where people with the same warning signs on dashboard got their car stalled in the middle of the road. My vehicle only has 81,000 miles on it and Toyota dealership warranty states it’ll cover the vehicle up to 150,000 miles ev hybrid but now they are stating the car is not under warranty.
Around 40k miles I received an engine maintenance required warning. After some research engine maintenance and engine service required are two very different indicators. I received and p2681 code meaning the electrical coolant bypass valve had failed unfortunately one can’t tell if it’s stuck shut or open this could lead to one’s care over heating and or damaging one’s engine. After some research I’ve come to find out most 2020-2024 Corollas have been having this issue tends to happen about 30-50k miles.
Just bought a used 20 Corolla se and put less then 500 miles on it and got a "maintenance required return to dealer" notification on the dash and a warning message in my information screen via infotainment system. Dealer said they got nothing via a scan. The issue is the coolant bypass valve. I reset the light on the dash and restarted my car with air off and it did not come back on. The second you turn on the air (the a/c in particular) the light immediately popped back on along with a new warning message. I've looked around and there's literally thousands of people reporting the same issue all on vehicles between 15k and 100k miles. The dealers also charge at least $600-$1100 to remedy this all too common issue as they will tell you it is not covered under warranty. I'm unsure of what promised damage to the vehicle could be but I know for a fact it's not nothing. Everyone is dumbstruck with how many people have this issue and there is still no recall on this clearly terribly made coolant bypass valve. It seems to apply of us that this is just a cash grab for Toyota.
Issue with unlocked driver's door after the collision reported on 6/25/23 # 11528724 additional concern: after the accident, my car engine was not turned off automatically; even after automatic speaker announced collision and that 911 was informed. After I got out of the car ( # 1152874) I was standing by the car, drivers door I left opened and at one point I realized that my car was still running ( gear shift was left in p). I manually switched off the car and I removed the key from ignition.
As a driver I was involved in frontal collision with my Toyota Corolla le 2020 properly serviced. (5yfeprae0lp138034) . Air bags were deployed followed by smoky air that made me difficult to breathe. I opened the windows, but I could not open the door to get out; it was locked. A passer -by could not open the door from the outside either. He told me to move gear shift to p; I did that and he was able to open the door and I got out. There was on loud automatic message informing about collision…. Certain safety steps must be automatically activated after collision. I am very surprise to experience that the driver’s door could not be opened after collision from inside or outside. I had to move gear shift from d to p myself for the door to be opened. I could not breathe properly inside the car even with open windows with air bags deployed. The door should be automatically unlocked after the collision. Driver may be unconscious, the car is in the fire or may be nobody to help the driver.

Engine maintenance required people on internet saying that I need to change the coolant bypass valve.
Driving regularly from work and sunroof exploded and glass went everywhere.
Front windshield has bubbles on all the edges and they are getting bigger I took it to the warranty ofrece and they say it not a defect, but I hace sean more tan 100 cars with the same problem ,and I don't fiel sale wathching then grow or break. While driving I heard water sound in my car like a wave and checked the car and finally realized that passenger side door in front is holding water . When moving the door back and forth you can hear it. I have heard it before and the noise stop it’s been raining and the wave back again.
2020 Toyota hybrid Corolla le my name: arthur (art) brest-602-315-4118-wife-diana brest (witness), 2425 west butler drive, phoenix-az 85021-I give permission to NHTSA to review my auto records regarding the gas pedal issue at camelback Toyota phoenix az stop and go, problem with gas pedal depression and propulsion gas pedal depression, no forward propulsion stuck in busy intersection. Intermittent problem like russian roulette, never know when gas pedal problem will rear its ugly head endangering driver, passengers and others expecting normal propulsion. Dealership said bring the car back when it happens again, dealership suggested taking a video of the intermittent problem, kind of difficult when car no go in active traffic, dealership could not find a problem so did not even try to repair what they could not diagnose. Happened twice, different dates, dealer-camelback Toyota 1515 e camelback Toyota-phoenix-az, reviewed gas pedal problem and said come back if it happens again, problem with that mentality/solution I may be injured or dead.
The vehicle stalled after the car had been turned on for 2 minutes; I do not believe there were any warning signals beforehand. I had been stopped at a light, and then almost immediately when I was able to proceed, it stalled while I was turning right. I was able to start it immediately, after turning it off completely. This is the second time this vehicle stalled, the first being in August 2020 after only 600 miles (it was new when purchased in March 2020), and at somewhat faster speed (10 mph). Both times, it spent several days at the Toyota dealer where it was purchased--this last time, eight days--and the mechanics were never able to duplicate the problem. I had hoped that they would inspect the fuel pump, knowing that millions of Corollas from 2019 and 2020 had been recalled for this issue, but I was told that it would be a very lengthy job and that there were no signs to indicate fuel-pump problems. In other words, Toyota was not authorizing that inspection. Thus, I am having to take back the vehicle with the mystery unsolved, and with the risk of another stall happening again in future. I am feeling lucky that I was not rear-ended, since the traffic was pretty heavy this last time.
There was a recall for vehicle shutting down when driving it was suppose to be taking care of back in October of 2022 and it continued to happen once in a while now it is happening more often and it is dangerous in the middle of traffic the engine just shut off with no warning now they are saying nothing is wrong and it out of warranty it is dangerous to drive there is going to be a accident.
Unknown while driving my car will cut off and a power steering message will appear, but when its serviced at the dealership they show no issue with the power steering. It cuts off suddenly without notice. One time I was at a light in traffic, another time I was waiting on a car to pass to pull out onto a busy highway.
I am not sure what the component is but I am driving and as I accelerate the gas my car will lose power to increase speed. If I am at the stop sign or stop light and I proceed to go the car will stall and not get going once I place my foot on the gas. I have reached out to the dealer by phone and when I have obtained service I am being advised that it's nothing. But I have experienced it on multiple occasions and even had an accident and nothing is being done to resolve the issue. I know that it can't be normal for the vehicle to do that and I am tired of getting the run around in regards to it. I was able to see that there has been a recall but do not see that it is in regard to me VIN number. Can you please assist me with this matter. I should not be in the middle of driving or at a stop light and not able to accelerate my vehicle to a regular speed. I would like to have this matter looked into by a different Toyota dealer. Also it happens randomly and when I take to the dealership nothing is ever done and the issue is constantly being ignored. I am being told that due to no check engine light being on that my car is fine and its not. I don't want to lose my life due to the fact that I have purchased a faulty car and have not been made aware of any issues to protect my safety.
Losen.
"engine maintenance required" - coolant bypass valve is the cause.
My car was sold with the odometer rolled back (fraud odometer). I bought with 6074 miles and when I went to the Toyota for maintenance they reported me more than 88. 000 miles.
Message on dashboard that says, "engine maintenance required. Visit dealer. " this message came on at around 31,000 miles and I was told it was three different things all different prices at my dealer. So, I looked into it and found out it was the coolant bypass valve, and asked the dealership about it and they said 700 dollars to replace. I did not want to pay that much especially since I saw online others were having the same problem. Message still pops up to this day when I turn on my a/c. Car now has around 205,000 miles on it and is six years old.
No android auto.
Was on a head on collision the air bags failed to open no breaks or indication that the breaks were failing. Once the vehicle was in the shop shortly after the battery exploded sed . Now the care is totally for all the frond end damage and the cost of the batter would be ten thousand dollars. I was driving interstate 15 in riverside California rear end the car in front.
Dealer stated that there was a chemical buildup on the inside of the windshield that could affect the safety camera sensor (they claimed it was probably windex). Dealership claimed that the camera enclosure is not sealed and particulate may enter the enclosure. Said the problem is not covered under warranty. What happens is someone is a smoker or lives on a dirt road? does Toyota expect particulate in the enclosure to be acceptable? this may impact the performance of the safety systems, especially if there is sun glare. I bought the car in October 2019.
With only about 630 miles on my new 2020 Toyota Corolla, the vehicle stalled shortly after I had just made a turn in city traffic; I believe I was stopped at a light, and it wouldn't start up again when I put my foot on the gas. I had to have the car towed to the dealership where I'd bought it five months earlier; they gave it a thorough inspection, acknowledged the fact of the stall, but never found the cause of it (couldn't "duplicate the problem"). They had no problem starting the car once it was at their service. This was a one-time incident and I have had no problems since; I am now at over 1,400 miles. But it makes me uneasy that the source of the issue was never uncovered--especially now that I know there is a recall on 2020 Corollas for faulty fuel pumps. (the fuel pump was the one thing that was never investigated at the time of the stall; the service person didn't think it was necessary. ).
Bought a 2020 Toyota Corolla from servco hawaii in Feb 2020. 4 months later car would stutter, 5 months later call stalled while in motion, in heavy traffic, on a street, on a straight away. I almost got rear ended. Car has less than 5000 miles. Servco hawaii could not duplicate the stall and asked me to take the car back and monitor it. I refused because I could endanger myself and others.
A glare from the steering column prevents you from seeing the instrument cluster during the day. Hazardous as you can't see your speed or the information screens about the vehicle. Car is affected anytime during the day.
This is the third time that when I was trying to park my car after completely stopped the car (braked while the car is in the drive) then move my stick shift to reverse and the stick shift is fully in reverse car moves forward. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
Every time it rains the doors gets filled up with water from the rainfall.
When driving or going over bumps it sounds like there's a rock stuck somewhere underneath the vehicle.
