The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph, he depressed his brake pedal as he approached a red light; however, the vehicle failed to stop and enter abs mode. Due to the failure, the vehicle skid as he both hit the vehicle in front of him and the vehicle to the right of him. The airbags did not deploy upon impact and the forward collision avoidance feature failed to operate as needed. The contact hit his head on the steering wheel and later sought treatment by a chiropractor for pain to his lower back and neck. Another driver involved in the accident was injured; however, the whereabouts of their injuries were unknown. A police report was filed (#25495091). The contact was able to drive the vehicle away from the scene. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 8,800.
