general problems of the 2022 Toyota Corolla

Hello, on October 14th 2024 I reached out to Toyota over a “engine maintenance required” message on my dash along with a check engine light. I took it to the local Toyota dealership in downey CA. After testing the engine coolant bypass valve b control circuit high failed. Toyota replaced the valve on October 21st 2024. Issuing me a 1year/12,000 mile warranty. On Thursday January 15th 2026 the drive start control malfunction warning light along with a p26ae error code displayed. Upon testing the engine coolant bypass valve b control circuit high failed again. Speaking with Toyota my vehicle VIN is not part of the csp service campaign they have for 19-23 Corolla models. I spoke with Toyota corporate and they couldn’t/wouldn’t help. This is a severe safety risk as the valve failed at a moments notice with no warning or symptoms. Additionally it can lead to engine stall and catastrophic damage, risking other drivers if engine loses power. This is an ongoing and recurring issue with rav4/corolla/cross models and Toyota is facing a lawsuit here in California from other drivers with the same problem. I would like for my VIN to be added to the safety recall as Toyota knowingly replaced the valve with the same defective part per the technician who fixed my vehicle the first time who warned me this was going to happen again. The slave cylinder failed at 33,186k. So, now the car is needing a new slave cylinder and clutch because the clutch has been contaminated.

While driving and attemping to merge on highway heard a loud pop and bang sound from car car started rolling like vehicle was in neutral. This is a safety issue due to this involving the transmission and couldve caused an accident if vehicle was on highway. Transmission malfunctioned on multiple occasions (would not go into gear). My safety was put at risk due to me not being able to move my car out of the road. Check engine light engaged at the time of the transmission failure.

After the stop at the light and anything like first time. . . It was rainy both times. I'm worried it's dangerous on the highway. It was raining and I had my wipers on and my stop and start system on. I haven't reported it to Toyota dealership. Both of them are in the middle of the road. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on three separate occasions, where it was diagnosed that a shift linkage cable had detached from the bracket and the part was reassembled. The failure recurred with the spring tension detaching, and the dealer adjusted the spring tension to secure the shifter linkage cable. The dealer then tightened and secured the bracket after the third failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,080.

Lost all acceleration going up a hill. Pressed the gas pedal to the floor as I had a line of cars behind me. Nothing. Placed vehicle in neutral and back into drive. Was slowly able to proceed forward at about 10 mph until top of hill where gained speed. Has since happened 2 additional times. No warnings and happens at take off and hills. I did ask service department at dealership where I purchased to have it looked over. Nothing. I feel I could easily be hurt.
