Component/system failed: the srs airbag system malfunctioned. After a rear-end collision on October 3, 2025, in gwinnett county, GA, the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle displayed an alert: “srs airbag system – malfunction detected” at 16:02. Safety risk: my safety was put at risk because the airbags did not function during a significant impact. This failure could have resulted in severe injury if the collision had been more forceful or from another angle. Inspection/reproduction: on October 6, 2025, I brought the vehicle to atlanta Toyota. Instead of documenting the diagnostic trouble code (dtc) and providing a report, the dealer cleared the fault code and recalibrated the system without my authorization, effectively erasing critical evidence of the malfunction. The invoice confirms this. Inspections by others: the vehicle was inspected only by the Toyota dealer. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives, but I have legal counsel and am preserving the evidence for further independent inspection.
