Wiper problem #1

Subject: vehicle safety complaint — dashboard/windshield reflection severely impairing visibility on 2014 Toyota Corolla (VIN: [xxx] ) to whom it may concern, I am writing to report a serious safety issue with my 2014 Toyota Corolla, VIN [xxx] . Under certain daylight conditions, the dashboard (or a component of it) reflects sharply on the windshield, producing a glare so intense that it significantly impairs my ability to see the road ahead. Vehicle details: make: Toyota model: Corolla year: 2014 VIN: [xxx] approx. Current mileage: [insert mileage] problem description: - at specific times of day — when sun angle, interior lighting, and windshield geometry combine — the dashboard reflection becomes very pronounced. - the reflected dashboard elements (vents, panels, interior contours) appear on the windshield glass and overlap the driver’s forward view. - this glare regularly blocks or obscures pedestrians, other vehicles, road signs, or hazards ahead. - the issue is not cosmetic; it directly reduces visibility and increases risk while driving. - the vehicle remains stock — no aftermarket modifications have been made to dashboard or windshield that could cause this reflection. Impact on safety: - I frequently struggle to see clearly under these lighting conditions, compromising my ability to react properly to traffic, obstacles, or sudden changes — especially when approaching intersections or dealing with glare. - this defect endangers not only me and my passengers, but also other road users: drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Request: I request that national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) review this issue for the 2014 Toyota Corolla (and possibly other model years) to assess whether dashboard materials, interior design, or windshield geometry create a widespread visibility defect. I am willing to provide additional documentation — such as photographs or videos showing the reflection information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C.

Wiper problem #2

Windshield brittle / easily fractured. Small pebble fractured windshield, needs to be replaced.

Wiper problem #3

My wife and I have been having great difficulty reading the center portion of the instrument panel because the illumination is too dim. We have visited the dealership and were instructed how to maximize the brightness, but it is still not sufficient. The small icons that appear at the top of the center section of the instrument panel cannot be viewed while we are driving, unless we place our head close to the screen. To do this our head must be at the level of the bottom of the front window. In that position we cannot see the highway sufficiently to be “safe. ” we both have good vision. In the past, we have owned over thirty automobiles and have never had a problem seeing the instrument panel. I have discovered that occassionally the illumination of the center screen of my instrument panel is fine. The car’s computer apparently dim’s it without my consent. I drove 60 miles (about an hour) on a California freeway, and for the first 20 minutes I had good illumination. Then it suddenly got to its usual dim state. I have asked several people at my toyora dealership, and they cannot help me. I, therefore, am requesting someone at your offices to look into this problem, and call me by phone to help me solve this important problem. The best way to viualize this problem would be to inspect my auto at my home.
