1 Assist problem of the 2025 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/25/2025

I have had several issues with the car. As issues have not been address problems become more unsafe. Most recently I have had intermittent issues with steering. The wheel will randomly be hard to turn leaving the car to drift uncontrollably. I have gone to the dealership but because they cannot replicate the issue nothing has been done. I have gone 3 different times to get them to address the concern but they cannot replicate it so they have not examined anything. They turned off the safety setting instead of checking the adas and since turning off the systems the issues are less frequent, but still a concern. I have contacted corporate who has not helped come to a resolution to ensure the vehicle is safe to operate.

2 Assist problem of the 2024 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/12/2025

My vehicle will jerk into the left lane of the road when lane keeping assistance is activated. It appears isolated only to situations when I am travelling on roads that were recently repaved and lines haven't been painted yet. However, these roads are equipped with consistent reflective indicators marking the center of the road because these roads remain unpainted for months. There are many of these roads where I live so it is a frequent issue that I experience multiple times everyday. I have never allowed the vehicle to fully execute it's correction in fear it would drive off of the road or into oncoming traffic but it is a very scary event when my car tried to kill me.

Vehicle presented initial issues with quick light and noise the day before the incident. 4 Assist problem of the 2023 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 06/25/2024

Description of problem/issue: dear reader: I recently purchased a new (certified preowned) vehicle and ever since then I have been experiencing some concerns with its handling on the road. This letter seeks to communicate this matter to the proper establishment for some possible recourse. On level roads while the steering wheel is centered straight up (near/over 40mph), the car tends to automatically glide to the left of the lane or coast quickly to the right and won’t stay centered in the lane very long without driver input to steer the car back to the center of the lane. Then when re-centering the car it roams in the other direction, and so forth (an oscillating effect). The issue is that the car diverts from the center of the lane and to maintain the center of the lane the driver has to constantly work at pulling the vehicle back to center. This is not the type of driving performance that I would expect on a new or certified new vehicle. It is both a nuisance and a hazard having to constantly steer the vehicle to center up in the lane. The car’s auto lane assist and departure assist and auto steering assist features are turned off during this time. And even when all these driver assist features are turned back on the drifting/pulling pattern is quite pronounced or seems to be compensating in my opinion. A google search of the term “2023 Toyota Corolla pulls to both sides” produces some great results as to the possible cause and effect. I have never driven a vehicle that diverts so quickly from its own lane so shortly after the driver’s hand is removed from the steering wheel. Nevertheless, the issues that I pointed out remains very alarming and nerve-racking for me! for safety reasons I’m still not pleased with how the car handles on the road. I wonder if there are any safety recalls, current or pending, concerning any of the steering or alignment components/features that would help resolve this problem?.

5 Assist problem of the 2023 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 12/22/2023

I was useing the lane keeping assist and steering assist. I was driving down the hyw and parts of the solid white line to the right of me was faded or missing with no sholders. A wide truck that was about to pass me going the opposite direction had crossed over the center lane line and the stearing assist jolted me to the right where there was no visible line as I tryed to turn the steerting wheel to the left the assist jolted me to the right as the line became visible again causing us to go in to a big ditch.

6 Assist problem of the 2024 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 11/29/2023

On 11/29/23 after 11:30pm, I was in the process of clearing an exit and at the tail end of the exit it felt like the car was "correcting" itself and I was unable to stay turning right. The steering wheel felt locked and I was unable to control the car. The car impacted the guardrail and I was able to regain control after the initial impact. -this is a brand new car with less than 100 miles at the time of the accident. - prior to the collision, there were no warning signals from the dashboard. - I was not injured from the accident as I was only able to go around 27-33mph due to a tractor trailor clearing the exit in front of me. No others were involved. - the manufacturer sent an inspector to look at the vehicle and test drive it. However, they did not test drive in the same conditions I was in or at. - the issue was not reproduced by another party. (photos were taken the next day).

7 Assist problem of the 2020 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/19/2020

Drive assist occasionally swerves out of lanes at parked vehicles, pedestrians, and even cars in on coming lanes. Happens inconsistently and is unpredictable. When the car is perfectly centered with drive assist on, you begin to let your gaurd down. Which is when you least expect your car to forcibly turn the steering wheel at an unsuspected bicyclist.
