Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Toyota Highlander. The contact stated that when they attempt to turn the vehicle either left or right the vehicle's steering would suddenly lock. The contact stated that in oder to release the steering wheel they would have to retrack the steering wheel, quickly, to the point it has locked. The contact took the vehicle to the dealership (west coast Toyota located at 3399 w. Willow st, long beach, CA 90806) who diagnosed the steering column failed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact to the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. Gl.

2 Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2019

Steering column making ticking sound. Took to a mechanic and he stated knuckle joint is bad. Happens when driving. Potentially could cause steering tofail.

3 Steering Failed problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2017

2012 Toyota Highlander. Consumer writes in regards to intermediate steering shaft failure and horn cable failure. The consumer stated there should be a recall for these failures and to be reimbursed. The vehicle was repaired.
