Steering problem #1

Vehicle had a very loud high pitch whining noise the rapid accelerated I was braking and brakes were not working vehicle screen was flashing vehicle malfunction. Yes vehicle is available. I could not stop the vehicle I struck three signs and a lady fell down as I was approaching the the building very fast, hit a wrought iron black fence and it fell on a park vehicle and then I hit a park vehicle and it stop I threw it in park. I am not sure. Insurance company after the vehicle accelerated there was a message saying vehicle malfunction, not before the accident.

Steering problem #2

Was driving and all of a sudden ‘steering power low’ came on and engine died, got stuck in a busy intersection and needed assistance from police officer until I could be towed. Steering did not work to push car to side of the road so I was stuck in the center of the traffic. There was absolutely no lights or warnings before the steering power low and it died. Could have been very dangerous, I am supposed to drive north through the mountains to go camping in 2 days, lucky it didn’t happen then. At the mechanic now and they jumped the battery and say it’s working fine and they can’t find the problem.

Steering problem #3

- transmission has a whine sound. - steering while start in to peel off after 25k miles driving.

Steering problem #4

Headed westbound on 285 in georgia; hit on passenger side front door and vehicle swerved several lanes and hit a wall going 60 miles per hour. The airbags did not deploy. I was injured badly and the vehicle was totaled.

Steering problem #5

The steering technology in this vehicle reads lines on the road that are not correct or valid lanes and almost caused several accidents during the 2 years I had the vehicle. Luckily, I was paying attention and had to jerk the wheel to the correct lane but the steering wheel will force itself to the other false lane. This is extremely dangerous and this is a huge safety issue.

Steering problem #6

3 wheel alignments in same vehicle needed in less than 30 months: <5,000, 30,000 and 35,000 odometer readings it’s not from pot holes; I have owned about 14 cars in family fleet and have never had 1 vehicle need more than 1 alignment during it’s time of ownership of over 1,000,000 miles driven something is wrong with vehicle design or mechanical components to go out of alignment so frequently.

Steering problem #7

I was forced to change lanes quickly from the left lane to the left shoulder of an interstate when a double tandem tractor trailer moved into my lane of traffic. The interstate was dry and the left shoulder was in excellent condition and wide enough to accommodate my vehicle easily. All lane assist options were turned off, the driving mode was set to “economy” and the cruise control was turned to “off”. A few seconds after entering the left shoulder of the interstate, I felt the rear end of my vehicle sway from side to side for a few seconds. After the swaying ended, I thought there was a brief loss of vehicle control after which the vehicle returned completely to my control. My vehicle is a Toyota Highlander limited awd gas engine SUV with about 2700 miles when this occurred. I drove my vehicle without any emergency steering maneuvers 2700 miles prior to and 500 miles after this incident without any problems. I had my Toyota dealer examine the suspension, steering and event recorder of the vehicle and test drive it. They found the vehicle to be performing within manufacturers specifications and without any defect in the steering or suspension and found no codes found in the event recorder.

Steering problem #8

I purchased this 2021 Highlander on April 3rd 2021. Power steering malfunction, srs airbag system malfuction first happened on April 21th 2021 when I started the vehicle. The car was towed to the dealer ship. The dealer simply re-set the system and asked me to unplug the tracker device which was installed by insurance company. Because they suspected the problem was caused by the interference from the device. I unpluged it. However, power steering malfunction, srs airbag system malfuction happened again on may 21th 2021 when I started the car. I went to the dealer who then let Toyota involved this time and changed the battery. However, power steering malfunction, srs airbag system malfuction happened for the third time on may 28th 2021.
