One problem related to lane keep automatic steering has been reported for the 2021 Toyota Highlander. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2021 Toyota Highlander. The contact stated while while driving at 60 mph, the vehicle on it's own trying to navigate the steering and lane direction sensor on the vehicle to an opposite direction then what the contact is trying to steer the vehicle towards, which caused the contact manually steer the vehicle into the center lane. There is no warning lights illuminated on the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle and could not diagnosed the caused of failure on the vehicle. The dealer stated the vehicle and that lane sensor and steering assist sensor performing the way the vehicle is intended, however the contact concern is that sensor on the vehicle should be adjusted so sensor does not have to make adjustment so easily while the contact is driving. The vehicle was not repaired the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
