The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Highlander. The contact stated while driving at approximately 45 mph, or later any speed, he was having a failure with the pre-collision system feature on the vehicle. He stated that he cannot simply turn the system off. The contact stated that under certain driving conditions when he would be following a curve on the road, the system would activate and was braking the vehicle when there was no danger of a front collision. The contact stated that the failure was continuous. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact wanted the ability to turn the feature of the pre-collision system off. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.
