2 Air Bag problem of the 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser

Failure Date: 07/16/2019

Takata recall I was informed about the recall what I believe to be the interim stage of the process. I do not, and have not felt safe driving my vehicle. A 'loaner' vehicle has not been made available despite repeated months of attempts. A remedy engineered fix has not been made available. My family is incapacitated by having both of our Land Cruisers not able to be driven. Toyota dealerships have misrepresented the cost incurred by my family if we wanted a 'loaner' vehicle. Both the corporations and dealerships refuse to promise a specific time in which a sufficient alternative 'loaner' vehicle can be provided for my singular case. We are trapped.

Failure Date: 01/25/2019

I received notification in January that there was a recall for the passenger airbag in this car. I have been waiting over 2 months for a remedy--it's listed as "interim" in Toyota's system apparently. I was told by the dealer not to allow anyone in the passenger seat until the defect is fixed. This is a major disruption to my life. I can't imagine why it is taking so long to correct a defect with such significant consequences.
