As I was driving with my family at normal freeway speeds, a loud explosion rang out from the top of vehicle. The sunroof glass exploded and fell onto us below. There was no other cars near us, and no overpass. When the glass exploded, it sounded like a bomb, and appeared pressure was the reason, as it exploded upward, leaving the shape of an exploded volcano on the top of the sunroof. No rock or other object could have caused this from the outside: the impact would have had to come from inside of the vehicle. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being inspected.

Water pump failed at under 60k, but was just over 60k miles when I brought into Toyota dealer (rudy luther, minnetonka mn). Toyota denied claim and won’t stand behind a water pump failure. This part doesn’t have any maintenance needed per manufacture documentation within the miles I have on vehicle. Further - this is becoming a topic within many forums that Toyota has an issue with water pumps and is fully aware of this. I’d like to see Toyota take care of this issue and pay for this repair.

The Land Cruiser sent me to the er for 6 staples in my head. When reaching in through the rear window I hit my head on the sharp camera mount. It has a very hard edge that is also mounted much lower than the window opening.

While driving on highway in new jersey we heard something that sounded like a gunshot. We pulled back the sun shade for the sunroof and discovered sun roof had exploded.

My car was parked outside my house on 2/18/25 while I slept between work shifts. There had been no prior impact or damage to any of the glass, the vehicle has never been in an accident, and the glass is what was installed by the manufacturer. I am the only owner, it was purchased with only 4 miles on it. All windows/glass were intact when I left the car parked and entered my home. Approximately 10 hours later, I went to drive my car to work and the glass on the rear door on the driver's side was found completely shattered. There was no evidence of impact, nothing was stolen from the vehicle despite valuables being in plain sight, and review of camera footage from the entire day showed absolutely no attempts to touch, break, or enter my vehicle/glass. There was no evidence of impact from any objects either. At one point in the video, the very loud sound of tempered glass shattering and falling to the ground can be heard from my car (the window in question was not on the side where the camera was, so the glass falling cannot be seen). There were no people, vehicles, or objects that came anywhere near the vehicle during this time. Photos were taken, and the vehicle was taken to the dealer at the first available appointment less than 24 hours later on 2/19/25. This is a safety issue because despite no incident, glass exploded into my vehicle and if someone or a pet had been in the car, the glass would have hit them. There were no warnings or symptoms ahead of time that this would happen. Some of the glass can be made available for inspection upon request. The service technicians at the dealer immediately tried to tell me that there is no possible way for glass to shatter on its own without any impact, despite my notification to them that manufacturer's defects, like nickel sulfide inclusions, are a known possibility and being shown my video evidence. The glass/vehicle is currently being inspected by the dealer after my repeated insistence that they inspect it.

Ac does not work in cold weather. Only blows 140 degrees when set to 60 or higher but blows 40 degrees on low. No in between. Took to dealer and they replicated the issue and agreed it needs to be fixed ASAP but can’t find anything wrong. They had a corporate master technician look at it a week later when the weather warmed up and he could not replicate the issue so nothing was done. It is now cold again and it only blows extremely hot on anything except low. Many other owners complaining about this issue online. Please take this seriously it is making me have to sell the car if no remedy is done.

I am writing to express my concern regarding an incident that occurred during my visit to suburban Toyota of farmington hills, michigan on [xxx], around 3 pm est. I was there to test drive a brand new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser (VIN: [xxx] ). During the test drive, I noticed the vehicle had an empty gas tank with only 7 miles of range left. I stopped at a bp gas station and discovered that my salesperson, no’ah edwards, had sent me on the test drive without a vehicle key, using only the remote start. This meant that if the vehicle had stopped for any reason, it could not be restarted. I reported the issue to mr. Edwards, who arrived and restarted the vehicle using remote start again, providing me with a key for a Toyota tacoma, which was not compatible with the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser I was driving. As an automotive engineer with extensive experience driving various vehicles, I have never encountered such a lack of professionalism and customer care. Mr. Edwards' actions not only jeopardized my safety but also the safety of other drivers and pedestrians on the road. This level of negligence is unacceptable, and I am deeply concerned about the implications for other customers. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. This vehicle has a blind spot but was marked as providing a monitor and many other safety features, none of which function as the navigation screen it dark. Toyata believes this is nit a safety issue. Toyata has not released any information on how to remedy the issue with this serious electrical issue. Vehicle has 82,000 miles. The entune system is a wide spread safety problem for many millions of Toyota vehicles. Toyata offers no information to address fix nor acknowledgement of danger to owners driving vehicles with the blind spot feature.

Driving on trail ridge road in estes park. Fuel boiled and gas flowed out of the vehicle around the gas cap. It presents a real fire and environmental risk in addition to causing property damage to the vehicle by potentially damaging the paint with the boiling fuel. The government has not done anything to address this design flaw with Toyota despite it being known for decades. This has been present with the 80, 100, 200 series vehicles plus the Toyota tundra, Lexus GX and Lexus lx. There are a frightening number complaints about this. My vehicle currently has cooper discoverer ht plus in 285/60/18 with manufacturer date of 3/18. I took my vehicle in for a rotation of tires and I was advised by the staff that my tires have separated partially and are in the process of separating from the belt system on at least two wheels. All of my tires are from the same batch and installed on all four corners. I attempted to contact the manufacturer but I have been on the hold for the past two hours.

Experienced spontaneous sunroof explosion. Driving from estes park, CO to louisville, CO with my 9 year old son in back seat. Heard loud explosion overhead about 5 miles north of boulder, CO on hwy. 93. Nearest car was 6-7 lengths in ahead and traveling at 60 mph. It was a warm September day with intense 2:00p sun. We were finally able to safely pull over after 5 minutes. There was a nickle sized hole in the sunroof.

I purchased this vehicle from rocky's auto mass in worcester massachusettes. I was told it was inspectable. I had it shipped to vermont and my local inspection station explained that the frame is completely missing in certain areas and the vehicle can not be inspected or driven.

Excessive frame rust. I have a steering stabilizer bar frame mount that has rusted completely off and therefore the steering stabilizer is not performing properly. Happened during driving. This is the same year (time frame) as the numerous other Toyota frame lawsuit issues.

A few times while traveling at fwy speeds, as we start to go uphill the car violently shakes back and forth (steering wheel hard to hold on to). Vsc, trac and the liitle car with the skid marks behind it flash on the dash along with an alarm that lasts from 3-5 seconds. We have had a hard time keeping the car in the lane. Almost ran into the center divider. We have taken it to our personal mechanic, called Toyota, taken it to Toyota of san luis dealership and nobody has been able to find the problem. It is in our opinion that this car in unsafe to drive and unsafe to sell.

The vehicle's chassis deteriorated and it is now unsafe to drive the vehicle especially with some load. Despite due care in keeping the chassis free of ice and salt during winter time, the chassis is showing a lot of rust and appears weak to be driven at it's normal routine. I believe a vehicle's chassis could last for more than 20 years in the absence of any accident or collision which we never had with the vehicle.

I have a set of tire I purchased dot b73r c4ux 3111 michelin ltx/ms size: p275/70r16 one tire has exhibited tread/belt separation. I have a large bulge in the center of the tread with excessive air loss. I have read that there are several recalls on this type tire although this size is not listed.

The spare tire is held in place with a steel cable that broke spontaneously after 14 years of stress supporting the weight of a heavy spare tire. If this happened on the highway it may have caused a serious accident. I suspect that this might happen to any vehicle that depends on a single steel cable to hold up a spare tire.

While turning left at 5mph the abs and brake light suddenly went on and a high pitched sound came from the dash. The brakes failed completely with the pedal going to the floor and I rear ended the car in front of me. Had it towed to a Toyota dealer repair shop. Told that the abs activator master cylinder failed.

Excessive underbody rusting. I have a tundra whose underbody was changed upon recall by Toyota. Car is garaged or left in driveway. Every mechanic comments on excessive rusting including prestige Toyota but they maintain it's satisfactory. I had to change the thing holding the tire because it rusted through creating the danger the spare could break loose. Aaa would not change a spare tire because of rusting through. Toyota thinks the rust is ok. I don't and worry about safety. I cannot remember exactly when this happened. I can't accurately recall mileage when I noticed this.
