I own a 2004 Toyota Matrix with defective airbags. I think it is appalling the Toyota with the blessing of nhsta is allowed to choose which vehicles to recall on this issue based on local humidity. Although vermont is not as humid as guam we certainly have high humidity days and what if someone bought my car and took it south? either they are safe or they are not safe and we know they are not. I am left with no alternative but to make all passengers ride in the back seat to protect them, how many more deaths will be needed to change this rulilng and. . . Will it be someone that you or I love.
Takata recall will someone get Toyota to repair my car? I have been trying to get my airbag hazard repaired since 2014 recall came out. No success to date. Meanwhile forced to drive potential bomb. It appears Toyota is giving people the run-around. I stayed on the line for great length of time and was told to call back later and cut off. Dealer is not calling back. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you,.
The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Matrix. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v043000 (air bags) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
My srs light came on. It was diagnosed as a code b1181 for spiral cable assembly. A recall is in place or 1. 7 million vehicles in the us, but doesn't cover the 2004 Matrix (does cover the pontiac vibe though). Contacted Toyota customer service and filed a complaint, but they currently won't cover replacement as my model year isn't included in the recall and is out of warranty. I believe my car to be unsafe due to manufacturer's fault and believe repair should be covered by Toyota. Please help.
I received a letter from Toyota, 19001 south western avenue, torrance, CA on a vehicle recall for my 2004 Toyota Matrix regarding a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety. Toyota stated that the "electronic control module (ecm) for the supplemental restraint system (srs) . . . Could have been manufactured with integrated circuits that are susceptible to internal short circuiting. . . If internal short circuiting occurs, the front airbag(s) and/or seat belt pretensioners could inadvertently deploy. Any airbag that inadvertently deploys can, under some circumstances, increase the risk of injury and the possibility of a crash. " on January 4, 2014, I called phillips Toyota located at 8629 u. S. Highway 441, leesburg, FL 34788, at tel. 352-728-2030 to schedule the installation of ". . . A sub-wire harness (filter) to minimize electrical noise from the other vehicle electrical components at no charge to me. " I talked to a person by the name of "dan. " he told me that he would order the part and call me after it comes into the dealership. It is now February 19, 2014, and I still have not received a call from phillips Toyota to schedule an appointment. This is a full 46 days and/or about 1 and 1/2 months since I called the dealership. I am very concerned about the "risk of injury and the possibility of a crash. " the letter stated that should the air bag(s) deploy or the seat belt pretensioners, then there is an increase in the "risk of injury and the possibility of a crash. " the recall letter from Toyota stated that I could file a complaint if I feel the authorized dealership has failed or is unable to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. Under the circumstances, I feel that the dealership has failed and that six (6) weeks is an unreasonable amount of time.
Toyota istaking to long to send parts for repair to south dakota Toyota dealers for know and reported faults that could lead to injury and/or death.
I was driving below speed limit near my home in my neighborhood street when my passenger side front airbag went off spontaneously. No outside impact was involved it just went off on its own. Thankfully, I was alone in the car so no one was behind the airbag. The force of the airbag cracked the wind shield of the car.

Safety recall notice (to fix srs and ecm) was received from Toyota in the second week of February, 2013. The vehicle was taken to the local Toyota dealer (lee's Toyota, 139-65, queens blvd, jamaica, NY, 11435) on 04/03/2013, to have fixed the problem. Since the correct parts were not available at the servicing center, the representative has informed me that, they will place an order for the parts and will inform me once the parts are available at the service center (per the service center the wait period for the parts is about couple weeks). Today, 04-30-2013, I called the service center to check the status of the parts. The service center has informed that, they did not receive the parts and not sure and have no idea when they will receive them as Toyota is taking too much time to produce them. I request that this matter may please be examined and see how soon the parts will be available (I have a fear that my car may develop new or other related problems as I am using it with ecm and srs problems and with the air bag malfunction light is on the dash board). Thank you,.
Takata recall. I've been receiving recall notices for this vehicle for years. I have been attempting to have three issues resolved, only one of which is the takata airbag problem. I have attempted to make an appointment for the repairs at the nearest Toyota dealer to me (about a 2. 5 hour-rt drive from my home) for the past year+, but I am repeatedly told that they are awaiting the part(s) for the takata airbag repair. To make things worse, I constantly receive flyers from Toyota urging me to have the repairs done ASAP. I would like to. But apparently, Toyota is having problems getting the parts to their dealerships. In the meanwhile, I'm driving a potentially dangerous car.
