Toyota issued a recall for the front passenger airbag August 28, 2019. However, they still have not provided a remedy or timeline for a remedy, over 5 months later. Toyota refuses to provide more information when I contacted them. This is an unacceptable amount of time to be unable to use my front passenger seat.

I received an email notice and letter in the mail notifying me of the takara recall, that Toyota has the parts but doesn't yet know how to proceed. I received a phone call from the local Toyota dealership on oct 25, and they said they have the parts and wanted to schedule repair. Upon further discussion about the issue, she then changed the story and said they couldn't do it yet and would call me again at an undetermined future date. Toyota is failing to remedy this situation within a reasonable time, and their advice that no one should sit in the front seat is not acceptable.
In October 2019 I received a recall notice advising me that the front passenger airbag which was replaced in a previous recall may be damaged and could cause injury in the event of a crash. I was advised not to allow passenger to sit in the front passenger seat until the airbag is replaced. I was also advised "the remedy is not currently available" and that I would be notified when the remedy is available. After waiting 3. 5 months the remedy is still not available. It is unreasonable not to be able to use the front passenger seat of my vehicle for an unlimited amount of time. I have contacted Toyota and they simply tell me there is no remedy available yet and I just have to wait. Is this legal??? do auto manufacturers have to repair safety recalls within a specific time period? if not, why not?.
I got the recall notice in October and still haven't gotten a repair nor another letter to let me know they have a fix. I'd really like to be able to have a passenger ride in my car and not have to ride in the back seat.

How can I get Toyota to quit sending me notices. I'm getting about 1 a week now for a car that was demolished at a junkyard in January 2017. I've provided them proof that they are sending to me but they won't stop. . . . Please help or forward me on to someone who can help. Thanks!.
Recall incomplete, remedy not yet available. This has been going on for almost two years. Why the delay? I was called by a Toyota dealership to bring in the car. After dropping off the car they called and said they had made a mistake and they did not have the airbag unit to replace. This is a serious problem that I feel is being neglected .
Your website where I enter my VIN returns a "request was invalid" message. "one or more parameters were invalid. " nothing is explained. Why did this message show?.
The vehicle was taken to Toyota about a year and a half to two years to have the airbag replaced. We were told that the part was not available. Now we are getting another letter stating that we need to have the problem repaired. Could I have the assurance that when I go over there I will not be wasting time again, because of parts being unavailable? thank you.
My Toyota corolla Matrix 2006 has a ecm under recall. When I bought this car from previous owner , I did not know that car was serviced under recall and ecm was replaced in January of 2011. In October of 2013, car has 54k miles and check engine light (p2716) is on. The transmission diagnostic was done and it shows that car has malfunctioning ecm. Transmission was rebuilt but not by Toyota dealer. Toyota dealer told me that my car has replaced ecm and doesn't qualify for any other ecm replacement. Now the car has 106k and still the same problem p2716 and ecm is malfunctioning.

I just arranged a 3rd appointment to have repairs on my Toyota Matrix for my safety recall. I have been told that there is no part to accomplish the repairs twice now. My next appt is set for the end of August and I am hoping that the part will be available! it is very difficult to comply with not having a passenger ride with me. Please order and deliver a suitable part to the owings mills Toyota service center.
Initial recall was issued for car nearly 1 year ago today. Remedy was not available at the time. Received a notice that the part was available and replacement could be scheduled approximately 2 months ago but was informed the part had to be ordered by the dealer. Follow up call today indicates the part is still back ordered and I am unable to have the repair done. This is unacceptable when the recall notice indicates that a passenger in the car could be seriously injured or killed in the event of an accident. Toyota has not remedied the problem in a year, and is not making satisfactory progress in obtaining the part or scheduling the repair.
I received two recall notices on this air bag issue. The first was at least a year ago, then just last week. The notices came with warnings not to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat. Really? it has been over a year since the first notice. Perhaps Toyota should have suggested the car not be driven at all, that would have been the safest option in their liable eyes. The dealership has been unable to remedy the defect in a reasonable amount of time.
Takata recall I finally received my instructions for replacing the dangerous passenger airbag on my Toyota Matrix after close to a year of waiting on their follow-up. When I reached out to my local Toyota dealership, mcgeorge Toyota in richmond va, I was told that they had to order the part and it would be 3 months before it could be fixed. I supposed free repairs are much more difficult to schedule.
After receiving the notice from Toyota, I scheduled an appointment and took my car in to have the recall fixed - taking a day off of work to do so. I then took a shuttle ride home and after seven hours of waiting I called asking about the status of my car. After another shuttle ride to the dealer I found out that they only did the inspection and did not fix the air bag. They said they would call me when the part was in to reschedule the actual repair. All I got was "sorry for the inconvenience. " questions: why does does Toyota send out a recall notice without ensuring that the dealerships have all of the necessary parts to handle all of the recall repairs? why wouldn't the dealer inform the customer about the parts situation before they bring their car in to be fixed? how will I be compensated for the seven hours of wages that I gave up to get my car fixed? how many hours will I lose for the second repair? how many other customers are having a similar experience????.

Takata recall - I received an undated letter from Toyota explaining the recall. I believe that the letter was received in August or early September 2015. As of today, 11/23/15, I have not received a letter indicating when it will be repaired. I called Toyota at the number on the letter. They cannot tell me when the repair will happen. The car is potentially dangerous. The letter advises that the short term solution is to not let anyone sit on the passenger side. This seems to me to be an unreasonable amount of time for the repair.
A recall that could take a year or more to fix is ridiculous. To have to not allow a front seat passenger to ride in the vehicle for such a length of time is unreasonable. What about those sitting in the seat behind the front passenger seat? could shards of metal pass threw it into backseat passengers in it if it deploys? limited materials in not an excuse when it comes to safety. Increase production or start paying for rental cars or replacements if it will take such an excessive amount of time.

A have a Toyota recall notice for my 2006 Matrix. The recall is dated June 16 2015, but as of yet (end of October) there are no parts available to fix the problem. In the notice under "what should I do?" it states: until the remedy becomes available in your location, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat. That's quite inconvenient! I feel that Toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time.
