Two problems related to brakes failed have been reported for the 2006 Toyota Matrix. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
2006 Toyota Matrix. Consumer states brake failure the consumer stated when he attempted to apply the brake, the vehicle failed to slow down. The consumer veered to the right, but consequently he rear ended another vehicle. The vehicle continued its course, even though the consumer was applying the brake. Finally, the vehicle came to a stop after continuing on for a half block.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Matrix. While pulling out of a parking lot at an unknown speed, the brakes failed and the vehicle would not stop. The contact applied the emergency brake to avoid a near crash. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and they stated that the contact was at fault. The repair cost more than $600.
