Front Seat Head Restraint problem #1

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Matrix. The contact stated that the head restraint would move up involuntarily and no longer supported her neck and head. The contact called the dealer who stated that they would put the permanent indentations on the metal for the restraint so that it would not move; the dealer also stated that the problem could be in the seat design and to take it in for diagnosis as it was. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 9,000. The current mileage was approximately 19,100.

Front Seat Head Restraint problem #2

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Matrix. While idling at a stop light, the contact's vehicle was rear-ended. A police report was filed. There was a steel plate on the lower portion of the driver's seat, which is a new design on the 2009 Toyota Matrix models (active headrest). As a result, the contact sustained injuries to his lower back, a herniated disc, and other major injuries as a result of the impact to his body. The manufacturer would not assist and the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 6,535 and current mileage was less than 12,111. Updated 03/17/09. Updated 03/17/09.
