The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Matrix. The contact stated that at 60,000 miles, the wheel bearings and rear axle failed. This increases the risk of a crash. The dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer stated that no recalls were available; therefore, they would not assume financial responsibility for the repairs. 2 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem of the 2003 Toyota Matrix

Failure Date: 08/30/2006

Front wheel bearing replaced & both rear wheel bearing (hub)assemblies replaced with only 103,000 kilometers on 2003 Toyota Matrix. Is my case an isolated incident or is this a thing to look for , for Matrix owners? it is a very costly repair over 1200 cdn.
