Electric power steering (eps) was blinking and stay on yesterday. Today it does the same. So two days in a row this happened. This happened when I was driving on the freeway both days.
My check engine light has come on and off sporadically, since the vehicle in question was bought of the showroom floor from sunny side Toyota since March 2009 all the way up to the present. Now, I didn't purchase this vehicle, however, my buddy who did has claimed this light -- check engine, along with abs and vsc would come on together. Although, he has said, it's never affected the performance of the said vehicle -- I know better!! since the vehicle is now under my ownership and unfortunately, it's out of warranty. However, there is a TSB on this exact service code p0607, which involves changing out the pcm and the other p code happens to be p0138, which is the 02 sensor. Since there is a TSB on this specific code - p0607, it affects certain corrollas and Matrix for the years prior to my vehicle -- so what a coincidence, would you say? I would say!! also, according to repairpal. Com, this is a common occurrence with these vehicles and I think this should also then be a standard recall, considering the fact that my 2009 Toyota Matrix only has 49k miles. It is also mentioned, under that service code that the pcm computer should be replaced and thus, it would correct these problems that I should not be having. Futhermore, it's listed in the TSB, that this is also covered under the emmissions warranty of 96 months and/or 80k miles. Is it possible to be assisted with this matter and having Toyota, out of good faith, correcting this issue for me. I have this TSB document inferring such along with another document which states how closely similar my engine is to the engine in question. The p codes stated above were supplied by the Toyota dealership, when I last brought my vehicle in for the takata air bag recall. I would sincerely, appreciate any assistance in dealing with this matter.
My clock started going out. Sometimes it would be on and other times it would go off and now it turns on and off in its own time factor when I am drivng and the car is in motion and when I am stopped at traffic lights. . I asked the Toyota dealer if they could fix my clock. I had them do a diagnostic test on the clock which cost around $110 approx. . They said they could fix my clock for $416. 31 and that is was connected to my air bags. My Toyota dealer said they replaced my takata airbag on the front passenger side on 2-18-2016, and told me the other airbags were not takata. But I wondered if my clock doesn't work and it's tied into my airbags, if I get into a wreck will my airbags deploy or not deploy becasuse I haven't fixed my clock?.
I have been trying to get a recall 15v043 done since Jan/Feb this year and I keep calling the dealer and getting told they have never been sent the parts ever. I also have the air bag recall 15v285 and this is the second time ive called them regarding this recall as well. Wtf do they never get parts now? whats really annoying is I keep getting letters in the mail regarding recalls and this last one says "why haven't we heard from you?" even though ive called multiple times.

Takata recall: many times over the past 2 1/2 years we have called Toyota of terre haute about performing this recall. Each time we get an excuse; the last time they claimed to have one of the parts necessary but not the other. They promised to call us back with and update and solution. That was last fall. (approx ).
My air bag light and my check engine light came on and would not go out. A balise Toyota technician, west springfield, MA, diagnosed the problem as a faulty spiral coil assemby. Balise's assistant service manager, karl subklew, stated this was a safety issue. I contacted/notified Toyota; Toyota has recalled other Toyota makes and models for this safety issue, but refused to apply the recall to my 2005 Toyota corolla Matrix. They told me to notify my attorney general. The cost was significant to me to have the spiral coil replaced on 7/18/14. This Toyota defect in Matrix and pontiac vibe models needs to be investigated and included in the Toyota recall for this issue. I also feel Toyota should fully reimburse me for my cost to have this faulty safety item replaced.
While driving on the highway at a speed of 45-50 mph, my car engine shut off, almost causing me to crash. I I was at a complete stop on a busy highway when I clearly saw my engine light on. I could not restart my car. I waited 5 minutes and I was able to start the car but only drive another mile at speed of 45-50 mph before my car engine again shut off. I then had to have my car towed to a local mechanic who was unable to look at my car until the morning. In the morning I received a call from my mechanic that it is the ecm and Toyota had a recall on my make/model and year. Toyota and my mechanic conversed about the issue and again I had to pay for my car to be towed to Toyota dealership. I then had appointment with Toyota at 1pm. From 2pm-430pm, I called Toyota to speak with anyone about my car, they kept telling me they would call me back. Finally the same person that spoke to my mechanic told me there was no recall on my make/model and year and they have not looked at my car yet. . . 4 hours after my appointment. . Read more...
Investigation results of report#-426903 given 2/12 of unintended acceler: was investigated by spx corp. Investigator hired from Toyota. At my apt. Setting, in my reserved parking spot because car could not be driven due to severe front end damage. I was given a memory stick with edr download info. , telling me Toyota will respond. 22 pdf pages, 19 were bizarre math equations, never to be understood. My event showed when ignition turned on engine at 1600rpm, to 800rpm, as I began to move, then went to 2000rpm, in less then 60 seconds, within a small lane, plunging me into brick wall. Letter from Toyota administrator said no faults were found, sorry cannot be of assistance. In the 3rd paragraph was false info. Extensive test drive done to test brakes, etc. Everything working well. I called his direct # leaving a message in regard to I had serious questions "test drive"? leaving my name & #. He called next day to apologize, "I misstated the test drive", at the service center it was driven a short distance, I said service center? tm- yes!, I said street outside my apt. Door? tm- yes!. Then said parking lot? tm- with hesitation, yes! asked if he was sure of the outcome, yes! next day via fax I wrote to him telling him that he made many misstatements! there is no street by my apt. , car never went to a service center, have lo jack telling me the car was never moved since collision. Which I knew since frame is severely bent, bumper rests on ground, all oil leaked out. If this is how a administrator of Toyota claims responds with outright lies, how many Toyota owners have been deceived. I told him; let's cut to the chase, I want a replacement car that is safe! 2000rpm- that is hwy. Speed, 1600rpm at startup with foot on break, Toyota calls this safe? he never knew the car could not be driven or where it was investigated, am I to trust his response? not at all!.
Safety recall letter received November 2010, part available March 2011 made appointment with dealer March 5th 2011 dealer said I need the replacement part for the ecm but no part available will call when part is available. No contact since. Received yet another recall letter August 15, 2011 starting the process all over again. I have complied but wasted my time already with no results. It is now August 2011.
Toyota Matrix 2005 model purchased on oct 2004 and exported to canada on Feb 2009, about 42k miles. Ecm problem. While the car is in motion, the engine check light turned on and kept on after then. The car "jerks" from time to time while moving. Sent to dealer, diagnosed as ecm problem, which is a manufacture defect.
Sudden acceleration in 2008 Matrix automatic: first known failure. Car brought new in September 2007; odometer: 6000 miles. While driving approximately 35 mph on even straight smooth roadway, there was a sudden acceleration to greater than 70 mph. When brakes were applied, they depressed to floor without any effect. Car continued to accelerate rapidly. Shifted to neutral without success. Car slowed after being placed in reverse. Coasted to a stop. Placed gear in 2 and drove slowly home - approximately 1/2 mile. Floor mats were not near either pedal and were kept stationary by hooks designed to keep mats from shifting. Called Toyota service department: told that floor mats were the problem; talked to service managers who stated that the sequence of events described were impossible, no problems were known to exist for Matrix and greater than 99% of sudden acceleration problems were due to driver error. After a discussion, the car was evaluated by the service department. The following was reported: floor mats held in proper place no objects on floor normal brake pedal operation normal accelerator pedal operation health check - powertrain, chassis, electrical, network systems - ok computer codes - no abnormalities found normal throttle body inspection tires with normal wear & function problem was not duplicated on test drive. Was told that the car is functioning normally in all areas and has no problems. Implied that my experience was a misperception or misrepresentation. Assessment: there was a significant malfunction in the Matrix which could have led to critical injuries or loss of life. Only due to the traffic flow at precisely that moment, no one was injured. The Toyota service departments denied that the problem exists. Recommendation: sudden unexpected acceleration should be investigated until an answer /solution is found. The findings should be shared with the public. The cost for repairs should be paid by Toyota.

I have a Toyota Matrix 2003. On February 19, 2010 I was driving north on highway 101 in California. I was driving at about 35 mph my distance from the car in front of me was about 1/2 a block. Suddenly the traffic slowed down and I immediately started slowing down, but the car would not stop and it felt like it was accelerating instead. I crash into the car in front of me with several damages to my car, total loss of the car in front of me and with body injuries to myself. This is not the first time it happened on a Toyota Matrix in 2006 I had another accident that put me out of work and with permanent disability problems. Both incidents due to similar circumstances. I will like to do farther investigation on this issue.
