The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Prius. He stated that he was unable to start the vehicle. The dealer stated that the battery died because the vehicle sat for more than ten days. The dealer charged the battery and there had been no further occurrences. The manufacturer stated that the battery cables should be disconnected when the vehicle sits for 7-10 days in order to prevent the failure. The contact felt that the remedy was unsafe.
