Brake Electric Antilock problems of the 2009 Toyota Prius

Four problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 2009 Toyota Prius. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Electric Antilock problem

2009 Toyota Prius. Consumer write regards to vehicle brake problems. Consumer also sent revised Toyota document. The consumer stated the same braking problem existed for models before and after the 2010 models. However, only the 2010 models were recalled.

2 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

2009 Toyota Prius. Consumer states problem with braking system the consumer stated when he applied the brakes to stop, he realized they did not engage and neither did the abs. The vehicle continued at the same slow speed finally coming to stop only after a truck sheared off the front license plate on the consumers vehicle. There was no other damage to the vehicle.

3 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2009

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Prius. The contact stated while driving at 45 mph he had to brake hard and fast. The vehicle slowed down but crashed into a truck. The contact stated the vehicle was totaled. Updated 04/28/10. The consumer stated he never felt the abs activate. Updated 02/24/10. Updated 3/8/10 the consumer stated he did not hear the anti-lock system sound or feel the usual brake pedal vibration. The vehicle slowed initially, then deceleration began with no lock up of tires and no apparent anti-lock system engagement. The accident was due to the vehicles failure to stop as expected. 4 Brake Electric Antilock problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2009

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Prius. The contact was driving approximately 20 mph. Whenever encountering a bump or pothole in the road the vehicle began to operate uncontrollably with an illumination of the warning light indicator. Also, the failure occurred while making a sharp turn. The vehicle was taken to a dealer regarding the failure. The contact stated that the malfunction could cause a potential crash.
