1 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2021

The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Prius v. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the abs warning light illuminated and the brake pedal failed to operate correctly. The contact coasted the vehicle to the shoulder of the road, and depressed the brake pedal extremely hard for the vehicle to stop. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to bryan college station Toyota (728 n. Earl rudder fwy, bryan, TX 77802, (979)776-0404) where it was diagnosed however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the issue. The technician changed the oil and one week later the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed a second time and it was determined that the brake booster was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 220,000. The VIN was not avaiilable. ## VIN failed ## 2012 Toyota Prius ##.

2 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2020

Abs warning light indicating trouble with the braking system, I took the car to an independent auto repair store and the mechanic checked the codes on his computer and received 2 codes that indicating that the abs pump needs to be replaced. The total cost would be between $3000 to $5000. The abs light goes on when I start the car.

3 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2019

My 2012 Prius v is only 90k miles. Starting from about 2 weeks ago, the warning lights including brake system warning light, abs warning light and slip indicator light were suddenly lit on when I was driving, then I found the regenerate brake become very hard and difficult to stop which was malfunctioning. These warning lights were kept on all the time when I drive the car. The car threw out code c1391 when given a diagnosis. After some online work, I found this is a very common problem for Prius v. I went to the dealership however the dealership states that my car, based on its VIN, is not in one of the certain cars covered by zjb phase 2 which covers brake booster and brake booster pump assemblies for certain 2011-2015 model year Prius vehicles. The failure of the brake could be a deadly deficiency to all the people in the car when driving. Now I have to think to stop using this car because of the severe security risk. Toyota should take action to solve all this problem for all involved cars, not certain cars. My car is made in 2012, the diagnosis code c1391 given by my car are falling into one of the four codes associated with the brake problem covered by zjb phase 2. It is ridiculous that my car was not issued this extended warranty.

4 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2019

My 2012 Prius v with only 55,000 miles. Abs lights came on and buzzing sound every 3 seconds from just in front of steering column. Toyota dealer charged $270 for computer diagnostic then gave me a parts and labor estimate for replacing brake booster and master cylinder of $4400!!! independent mechanic can order parts from another Toyota dealer in mainland us for $1400 less than the $3200 that dealer in hawaii quoted and labor for much less. But still will be costing me about $2500. Searched recall sites and regular 2012 Prius models had recalls for exactly the same issue but no recall on 2012 Prius v brakes?.

5 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2019

I having a problem with the brake booster on my Prius and the Toyota dealership I went to said I need to replace both the master cylinder and booster pump which would be 3000 dollars worth of parts and labor. After research this issue I have found serval people have the same issue. Also the parts are on back order, showing you how big of issue this is. The breaking system felt spongy, my traction control braking system and abs lights came on. Thankfully I had just a couple of feet to my driveway.

6 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2019

The car has been suffering all of the brake symptoms for the recall of the 2010 Prius brake booster system. I've repeatedly complained about losing braking power when the abs light comes on when I go over uneven surfaces such as railroad tracks or a pothole. The brakes have benn farting from day one while sitting at a light or parked if the brakes are depressed and then slightly released. And now today the abs brakes are on with the battery light and there is limited braking power. I have to push almost all the way down before the brake engages. Toyota tells me I need to replace the brake booster system for $3500 and there are only 70,000 miles on my 2012 car. I feel my brakes have the same issues as the 2010 recall and more years including mine are affected and should be recalled.

7 Brake Abs Warning Light problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2018

While driving at 45mph vsc, parking brake, and abs lights comes on and stays on after research it seems to be a fairly common issue with the 2012 Prius. Still waiting for Toyota to do smething about it.
