Car Stall problems of the 2013 Toyota Prius

Four problems related to car stall have been reported for the 2013 Toyota Prius. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Car Stall problem

Toyota is trying to cover up the true number of vehicles subject to the hybrid system recall. . Toyota claims this vehicle is not the subject of recall, yet the vehicle displays all the symptoms described in the recall. . 1. ) the vehicle was in motion at freeway speed on westbound hwy 92 on 12/27/2020 at approximately 6:30pm 2. ) the vehicle lost all power. . Dashboard lights came on. . Error message said "hybrid system failure" 3. ) power to braking and steering remained 4. ) vehicle went off the freeway, with no power, down an exit ramp, and came to a stop, luckily, in a legal parking place, at the curb on DE anza blvd. . This is what Toyota said publicly: �the involved vehicles were designed to enter a failsafe driving mode in response to certain hybrid system faults�, the automaker explained. �Toyota has found that in rare situations, the vehicle may not enter a failsafe driving mode as intended. If this occurs, the vehicle could lose power and stall. While power steering and braking would remain operational, a vehicle stall while driving at higher speeds could increase the risk of a crash. �.

2 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2019

I was driving and pulling out into the road and upon accelerating the car jumped and then suddenly stalled - luckily I was able to move it to the side of the road. After restart the car is running slowly as far as pickup and all the yellow lights are on. It seems this was a recall in oct. 2018 and I think now my inverter is blown or not working. Taking it to the dealership to diagnose.

3 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Toyota Prius. The contact stated that the manufacturer had not provided the remedy for NHTSA campaign number: 18v684000 (hybrid propulsion system) within a reasonable time frame. The dealer (dch wappingers falls Toyota, 1349 u. S. 9, wappingers falls, NY 12590, (845) 206-0521) stated that the part was unavailable and did not know when it would arrive. The contact stated that the vehicle rode roughly, the battery warning indicator illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

4 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2016

Car stalled on freeway 163 bound north (no warning lights were seen) at 10 pm passengers (3) were exposed to sever danger . Toyota dealer could not find a problem. Police assisted and car was towed away (road assistance) to owner resident . Dealer claimed that recall was serviced. Symptoms appear to be exact to what it was reported for Prius 2010 to 2013. Dealer is in denial.
