Airbags didn’t deploy in a front end collision that totaled the car. The driver hit their forehead on the steering wheel. Driver had bruising from the seatbelt. There were no warning lights or indications of any issues.

2 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/04/2023

Driving making slight turn car locked up steering wheel, brakes and gas all locked up ran in to a wall. The vehicle just failed with no prior warning.

3 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2022

Prius was rear-ended at highway speeds, forcing it into the vehicle ahead of it. Airbags did not deploy, & driver's seat failed to stay locked, moving forward then rearward during crash.

4 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2021

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Prius v. The contact stated while driving at a undisclosed speed, a vehicle hit the front driver side causing damages to the front driver side door and under carriage. The contact stated none of the air bags deployed. The contact stated ambulance did arrived at the scene where they took the the contact to the hospital. The contact sustained injuries to their head due to the front side window shattering causing laceration on the left eyelid and small facial fracture as well bruising and swelling of left eye. The contact stated the other driver in the accident and passenger was taken to the hospital as well but the contact do not know if they were injured. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to tow yard. The contact attempted to reach out to local dealer but no response. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 76,000.

5 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2019

Tl- the contact owned a 2015 Toyota Prius. The VIN was not provided. The contact stated that while her husband was driving about 55 mph, another vehicle rear-ended the contact's vehicle and caused the vehicle to roll over multiple times and then crashed into a ditch. The contact stated that only the front passenger's air bag deployed. There was no warning. A police report was filed. The front passenger, the contact, sustained fractured right arm, fractured pelvis, ribs, serum and a few bumps and bruises on lower leg, and chin. The driver sustained a head injury, a concoction, multiple facial fractures and lacerations and a broken nose. The contact stated that the front driver's head rest and the seat belt seemed broken and caused the driver to end up in the rear seat (unconscious). The contact and the driver were taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The vehicle was totaled and was towed to a tow yard. The dealer and the manufacturer were not called. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The contact did have information about the other driver, except that the driver operated without a valid driver's license. Fe.

6 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2016

2015 Prius 4 after rear end collision noted passenger airbag 'off'- passenger seatbelt icon blinks - airbag icon on dash lit continuously. Vehicle was hit from behind when in process of stopping (breaking but still in motion 90 - 50 ft from turn) waiting for left turn through oncoming traffic onto side road from highway. Body shop attempted to clear with diagnostic computer interface but unsuccessful. Body shop shrugged it off forcing us to deal with mfg for repairs.
