general problems of the 2015 Toyota Prius

I am having a hybrid propulsion system issue due to a part that was recalled according to this id number for the NHTSA 17v718000 that was posted Nov 14, 2017 and my car does seem to be affected because it is facing the same issues as other cars reported from that batch. I want to make sure that I can have it serviced properly at my dealership.

My Prius v has slow acceleration and the rpms seem to go unusually high on acceleration. This makes it dangerous to pull out from a stop sign, etc. In certain situations that would be fine in another car of the same make and model. And recently it has started to throttle up when taking my foot off the gas and even when pressing on the brake. This happens intermittently and randomly. Fortunately no accidents have occurred yet and I'm trying to get the problems resolved with Toyota, but the dealer says it will be hard for them to diagnose when the problem is not occurring and there are no warning lights. Less than 60,000 miles on it.

My mom was involved in an accident in her 2015 Toyota Prius on April 19, 2022, which she advised lurched forward at a stop and when applying the brakes to stop the vehicle, she said was unresponsive, causing her to clip a vehicle and sending her vehicle into a ditch totaling her car and injuring her passenger and her. I would like to have this investigated and hold Toyota responsible. This could have been much worse and lives could have been lost. She is now without means of transportation, and she is now possibly responsible for damages to property and bodily injury because of this. Through my research I have discovered multiple class action lawsuits brought against Toyota for the same exact models. I asked the police officer to run a scan on the computer, but he advised it was only for serious accidents. There was no indication of the problem or messages.

As stated from 5 months after we bought it, and the first Prius, the car won't start. No matter if parked flat, keys in or out over night, or the temp, when the break is pushed it is squishy and makes draining noise and won't start. As a dr on call I have lost patients because I could not leave my house. I carry and use the charger daily ever since. Taken in lots. They say, "you don't drive enough. . Or some other bogus excuse, like don't leave keys in car, which is how Priuses start and run!. The car is driven in all ways a lot. Also we buy headlights and headlamps on both about every 2 months. Also it looses power and has shut off while driving. The worst is when it would start on its own in the locked garage. At that point my wife just quit driving all together. Nothing but nightmares. She almsot crashed on fw when power went out.

When I looked up my car on kelly blue book for pricing, it said that it has been recalled as of 2020. I was not aware of this at all and could have got into a serious accident. I recently purchased a 2015 Toyota Prius hybrid in February and not even my saleswoman told me that it has been recalled. It has a sleuth of issues that came with it.

Recall no 20tb10/20ta10 done but problem with system wanting to shut off occurred on freeway at 55 mph.

105k milage. Driving on highway at about 45mph and car suddenly jerk and slowed to about 10/15mph. Lost electric power, able to only continue driving on gas 10/15mph. Toyota had to replace the following which they indicate was not under warrently which cost $2642. Transister kit, powe plue kit, inverter d grease super long life cool gasket.

I have Toyota Prius v 2015 but I was losing power and I took it mechanic several times and now it's seems like now it affected my engine or my gasket according to the mechanics.

Prius v3 lunging backwards 1/21/2016 on Thursday 1/21/2016, I was parked in a big lot and after my appointment, got in the car and turned it on. But rather than pull backwards out of the spot, I decided to first make a call using bluetooth. The call took about 10 minutes. I then hung up, released the emergency brake, and moved the stick shift into reverse with my foot, of course, on the regular brake. As I released that brake, the car lunged hard about 10 feet backward across the parking lot "drive", into where other cars could have been parked but luckily weren't. I automatically and immediately put my foot back on the brake which stopped the car. Needless to say, I was bewildered and scared by what had happened, counting myself very lucky there was no other car parked behind me. I don't know what caused the engine's lunge, I just know that I have driven Toyota Prius cars for the last 15 years, love them, and never had any driving issues. In researching the problem online, I saw that it might have been the car's power train, since similar lunges were described in cars a couple of years ago.
