Filling tank with at least 8 gallons, after 100 miles gauge drops 3 bars for past three years first 100 miles max two bars wonder if diaphragm is stuck.

When fueling my car the pump cuts off not allowing me to fill the vehicle. If I am down to one dot that will require me to fill the tank the pump cuts off after only filling to 5 or 6 gallons, not allowing me to fill the tank and get full gas mileage benefits from this vehicle. I have tried various methods and different gas facilities and the results are the same the pump cuts off while fueling the car and will not let me fill the tank. I have read online that other owners are having the same problem and was advised by a car maintenance center to contact NHTSA to file a report. I have tried contacting my local dealership and they have not returned my call.

Vehicle only has 110k miles on it. Check engine starting going on when accelerating on uphill. Full up gas tank & light would go off. Then check engine would go on when low gas level. Told to change gascap. Did not resolve issue. Filling pulled codes it was catalytic converter. Part cost $1700. 00 for part alone for a part that is suppose to last lifetime of car.

When driving dashboard "hybrid system not working. Pull over. . . " this was 7/3/2012. It had run out of gas even though there were 2 bars out of 10 still present on gas gauge. On 7/30/12 later this happened again with 4 bars showing. Got the fuel sensor and gauge replaced on 7/30/12. 8/14/12 with 3 bars showing, cruising range of 60 miles and having gone 480 miles the same warning "hybrid system not working. . . " I was able to get to a gas station before running out of gas. The Prius manual states the tank holds 9. 5 gallons. Filling up the tank took 9. 91 gallons. There is clearly something wrong. The fuel sensor and gauge have already been replaced, though. This is a major problem for a new car. This is a new model. ## VIN passed ## Toyota Prius 2012 c ##.
