The paint on hood is rusty and corroded, this can affect the body of the vehicle since it exposes the metal and can pose a safety problem. Toyota had a recall for 2010 white paint well the same thing happen to mine which is metallic gray. I have another car from another brand from 2012 and paint is intact just faded which is normal but not corroded. I contacted Toyota and they refuse to take my complaint. They only gave me a claim number 250808001898 for record.
I was backing up, turning around in a driveway. When I attempted to stop, something interfered with my ability to depress the brake pedal, resulting in a low-speed (less than 2 mph) collision with a shed, minor damage to the shed and damage to the rear bumper cover of the vehicle. This is the third or fourth time I have had this problem (once at high speed approaching a red traffic signal, I could not stop prior to the intersection even with the emergency brake), but the first involving a collision. I investigated this (not the first time I have tried) and found a bracket which appears to be part of the brake pedal mounting that contacts my toes when my foot is toward the left side of the brake pedal and my heel is greater than about 0. 5 in. Off the floor (I wear a size 12 shoe). When this happens, I am unable to apply pressure to the brake pedal.
My car behind accident . 278 west highway.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Rav4. While driving 30 mph, the driver's side sun visor fell down into the driver's line of sight. The vehicle was taken to muller Toyota (2019 NJ-31, clinton, NJ 08809, (908) 638-4100) where the contact was advised that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The dealer stated that the sun visor was not a safety hazard. The manufacturer also stated that the failure was not a safety hazard and that the visor would not be repaired by the manufacturer. The failure mileage was 75,000.
When my vehicle was stopped I was rear ended at about 15 mph. Airbags did not deploy but all bag lights illuminated.
After taking two short 90 degree turns at a parking floor (4th floor), the vehicle was half way in the parking slot when it suddenly picked up speed and crashed into wire cables and a concrete post. This type of speed had happened twice in the past within three months of purchasing the car as a new vehicle (brought in Jan 2010). After the 2nd such incident the vehicle was taken to the dealer. They could not duplicate the issue. The vehicle had been taken in the past for gps check as well. Subsequently the vehicle was asked to be brought in for a recall service and that was completed as well. This incident was the next time when trying to brake to come to a slow speed it picked up speed. Wrote to Toyota with all details but they say that they could not duplicate the issue and the vehicle does not seem to have faults. Our concern is just that - they cannot duplicate the issue which means it can happen anytime without any warning. We are 100% sure this was not driver error and that it was identical to the past instances. Toyota expects us to drive this vehicle we believe has some form of a fault. They were not willing to drive it to and from the test location even after they say the test revealed no faults - they had it towed both ways. This is a pure safety issue and this car should not be on the road ever again. Many people can get hurt or die due to pure callousness of a vehicle manufacturer. Toyota may manufacture and design great vehicles but they should also take responsibility for any system or technical malfunctions of their vehicles. We would appreciate that your organization takes some action regarding this with Toyota so that they take this car off the road. We would hate to rely on Toyota's letter knowing they are acting with negligence and then sell this car to an innocent buyer.
