Warnings Problems of Toyota RAV4 - part 2

This vehicle has continued to have issues. The most recent and dangerous issue is the electrical problems due to water leakage. Water getting into the vehicle's interior can be hazardous with all the solenoids, modules, and wires. The roof rack leaking is a common issue for these vehicles. It does not become an issue until they have been exposed to rainy environments or washed. The water in our vehicle leaked down the driver-side a-pillar, behind the steering wheel, and into the floorboard. This caused a shortage in wiring for the mud/sand terrain modes and the safety systems for the vehicle. This would happen at random times, including down the freeway at 70mph. The adaptive cruise control would shut off and emergency braking would be defective if needed. The water does flow across the airbag in the a-pillar which could cause a more serious issue. Now, there is a possibility of the airbag not deploying in the case of a collision. The racks leaking is something Toyota should be recalling or publishing a TSB.

While changing the lane towards right, suddenly my vehicle over accelerated and was about to crash the vehicle ahead of me and quickly I decided to maneuver towards the right shoulder lane and within few seconds and speedy semi-truck passed from the left and saved our lives of 4 people in the car in the busy highway approaching the o'hare chicago airport. Safety: had I not taken towards right to avoid crash on anther vehicle, the high speed truck from the back would have hit us within a few seconds of my alertness. Yes, during Feb. 2019, due to excess acceleration, this car crashed towards thick ice and snow while driving through a street, and damaged front bumper. (my wife was seated at passenger side) called the dealer and took the vehicle to them(wilde Toyota-west allis), they knew the seriousness, serviced it in their workshop for over a week by changing timing belt, re-programming etc. . Etc. And returned back my car and said now it should work, it is okay as it should be. Yes, my vehicle was inspected twice by insurance company, Toyota officials for airbag inspection, workshop mechanics, due to major road accidents (for not my fault) in oct. 2019 and Jan. 2020 and repaired at another auto body service center in milwaukee(andrew Toyota) and in madison(ballbody-a division of Smart motors). There was no warning signs in the vehicle as the car runs very well on both highway and city roads.

Car randomly switched the driving modes from normal to mud and sand while a driving on the highway about 55 miles per hour, also said precolision system disable, happened in last 3 days.

I have attached a letter that I wrote Toyota but did not mail. Vechicle is a 2017 rav hybrid. We bought it in CA April 2021 and it had 28230 miles. Car went to renton wa in August, 2021. Vechicle was serviced a couple of times, but in October 2022, dealer gave us a bill for $9700 due to a faulty wire halter. The Toyota people said the car is out of warranty. My car is Toyota Rav4 2022 premium xle have many safety issues -during I'm braking/ hold button and standing on the light I find the car is jumping to front many times it was going to hit some one of pedsterian and car front of me ( it was like starting engine with jumping) - precollsion system doesn't work while doen't see any cars front of me while going to traffice light - keep lane assistant doesn't work and is not senstive sometime my car get out of the lane during I'm driving - sometime keep lane assistant system pushing the car to get out of the lane.

I was turning into a parking spot at my doctor's office when my car engine revved up and sped through the doctor's office nearly hitting my doctor and another patient. My airbags did not deploy. I had my foot on the brake but it did not stop the car. The automatic emergency braking system and forward collision warning did not work. My car had to be towed and is now waiting to see if it can be fixed but with the safety features that I paid extra for, I'm not sure that I would even buy a new one of this particular model. I came very close to killing my doctor and that patient!.

06/04/21. . . I had a hit & run head on collision(side swipe), as I was swerving to avoid oncoming traffic & get a handle of the vehicle, no warning lights came on. I hit a wall. My front nor side airbags deployed. It what was a very forceful hit from the other vehicle & hitting the wall. The vehicle is being inspected by my insurance adjuster tomorrow.

While driving on a 50 mph highway with the cruise control on and no vehicles or anything in front of the car for more than a half a mile the vehicle braked suddenly as if the system sensed it was going to hit something. I pulled off the road shut the car off and restarted the car and it operated normally after that. I would be concerned of a rear collision due to this occurring for no reason.

Cruise control and other safety issues randomly go off line. When driving cruise control turn off, as do the electronics. Further, the automatic bright lights are random to the point I have to disable the system. I have pics and video, cannot change format, don't know how.

With rain and snow the sensor start beeping and warning of objects in front of the vehicle when there are nothing. Driving in snow gets the sensors blocked and you cant use the cruise control.
