On my way home from driving my parents to the airport on may 18th, 2010 at approximately 4:00pm my check engine and low tire pressure light came on. I returned home and was there for a few hours. Around 7:00pm I went out to dinner with a friend. I returned back home shortly after 10:00pm. At approximately 1:10am on may 19th, 2010 I heard the sound of what I thought was fire crackers from the front of my home. I went outside to investigate the noise and to my complete shock my entire vehicle was in flames. I immediately called 911. The fire department put out the fire and said they believed it was electrical. I called the fire investigator that same day and left a message for him to come back out. On may 20th, 2010 around 9am michael burkhart from cape coral fire, rescue & emergency management services came to my home to investigate the fire. He determined that it was caused around the wire housing towards the back of the engine as he pointed out where the most heat was located. Also the wiring that goes to the housing in the engine was completely burned to the metal unlike the wiring inside the passenger compartment which still had some plastic coating over it. The report number is [xxx] for the city of cape coral fire department. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
