Failure Date: 04/15/2022

Ive been going thru a lot of oil lately and I dont understand why, I have a friend that owns the same car and told me he was going thru the same thing and took the car to Toyota and turns out they had a recall about oil consumption so they ended up rebuilding his engine or replacing it. So im wondering if im going thru the same thing. I have to put oil in the car every 2 weeks.

3 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2021

I am also one of them that just learned why my 2007 Scion Tc is eating the oil. I love this car and wish I would have received the notice about the engine problems back when Toyota may have done something about it. I know that three difference dealerships have my contact info. I will continue to put in a quart of oil each week until that stops helping.

4 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2021

Literally just bought the vehicle. Only to look into the history of these cars and see that they have a factory defect that was never professionally taken care of. Now anyone like me coming into ownership of these vehicles are punished for something we had no knowledge of nor caused. I was driving my car today down a residential road when all of a suddthe car jerks and dies. It would restart after that. Now mind you I take great care of my vehicles and keep all fluids to their factory suggested levels. I found out later that it spun a bearing thanks to this factory oil defect. So the money I just invested into this car is now a donation. And I either find a new car, buy a new engine or rebuild the engine. All for a problem that Toyota soo unprofessionally handled and refused to take ownership of. Now I don't know what car companies keep secrets from the public but I'm sure one that doesn't give one iota of a f!?@ about their customers would allow something like this to pass by without rectifying the issue and making it right.

5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2013

The engine was consuming oil at an alarmingly fast rate. Dealership insisted oil levels were ok when car was brought in to Toyota dealership for all oil changes regularly. Now less than 115k miles and the engine is done and car is worthless. Dealership refuses to take responsibility for a known defect in the engine.
