I have a Toyota Scion Tc and it has been consuming oil every 1200 miles now it's even less my engine almost started to lock up because there was no air on I did the oil consumption test they said I passed on my paperwork it has them adding oil and I only drove 1100 miles that's not normal they're telling me they cannot fix my car and the next test I take is going to be in six months so I have to add a quart of oil for every thousand miles.

P043e, po444f, p2401,p2402,p2419 codes charcoal canister assembly failed seems to be a very common problem with this particular Toyota model and Toyota should pay for the replacement. Faulty equipment expensive to replace. Want Toyota to replace these parts / TSB notice.
I was told by a GA mechanic that I need to purchase a "vapor emissions canister" for my 2005 Scion Tc in the amount of $520. 96 (parts & labor) I see there is a recall/technical safety bulletin on this below bulletin s-sb-0030-09 date of bulletin: 08/30/2010 summary description: scion: some tc vehicles may exhibit a mil on condition with one or more of the following dtcs: p0455, p0441 or p0456. 2005 Toyota Scion Tc fuel system, gasoline service bulletin 288332 NHTSA: action number: 10033635 service bulletin number: 288332 report date: Jun 02, 2009component: fuel system, gasoline summary: scion: some tc vehicles may exhibit a mil on condition with one or more of the following dtcs: p0455, p0441 or p0456. Do I really need to purchase this or can this be corrected by scion/Toyota?.

Head gasket leaking found 6 head bolts loose. Installed new head gasket set, new intake manifold. Paid 2000 dollars for repairs, now having problem with the engine. Makes loud noise and overheats. Mechanic and bar agent advised it was a manufacturing problem. Headbolts came loose again and now I need new engine. Previous to this my insurance had paid a total of 5000 dollars for some mechanical and body work. I have been without a vehicle for almost seven months now. Called Toyota manufacture company they told me the only way they would inspect the vehicle would be if they charged me. I do not have the money to afford the repair again and to buy a new engine. I just need it to be inspected especially since I had a government official from the bureau of auto repair confirm that there was a manufacturing defect.
My daughter was driving her 2006 Scion Tc ( made by Toyota ) and the throttle body started locking, making the car cut out ( this started around April 1st )and this continued for a few days until around April 5th and then the throttle body would lock completely and shut the car off while driving down the road and the real disturbing part is that the steering wheel would lock, and this happened not once not twice but three separate times. I called the Toyota dealership in denison texas and mckinney texas and they said that this couldn't happen and I let them know that not only can it happen but it did happen 3 times and the last time she was doing 70 mph and luckily she ran off of the side of the road curving to the right instead of into the oncoming diesel truck. I asked my daughter repeatedly if the steering wheel was just hard to steer because of the loss of power steering and she said no that she tried with all of her might and the wheel was locked and she couldn't turn it, and she is a strong young lady that could turn the wheel without power steering. I did some research on online forums and this seems to be a common problem with the scions ( the throttle body going out on them ) and I have driven for over 30 years and I have never seen or heard of a throttle body going out on a car and if they did they sure wouldn't allow the steering wheel do lock due to the engine shutting off. This is / will be a serious problem if it is not address and I certainly hope I don't have to read about someone loosing their life due to this problem.
