1 Wheel problem of the 2008 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 09/27/2015

Driving at 50 mph, being forced to right paving edge, corrected quickly to left, car went over center line and very extreme single vehicle crash with driver and front set passenger . Car was beyond distroyed. Loss of control unknown. One fact that is present is left front tire has no air in tire, still on wheel, and no damage to tire. I feel the tire was force off wheel bead ,air loss instantly, and was like a blowout. The only markings on road was the tire thread pattern without any skid marks and a light scartch mark, outside of tire marks. Tires we replaced by Toyota dealer,,7,000 miles, like new, rotated, inspectd, gage air checked 5000 miles/6 months ago ,tps light not on,so no reason to think low air pressure nor any tire issue . Tire is bridgestone potenza 215/45r17 91v. Wheel is orginal equipment alloy 6 double spoke, tire size same as orginal. No air, tire thread patten printed on road buy rubber only ,scratch made by outside edge of the wheel as only possible cause,so did tire deflate and over correct drivers actions . Both are ok,and 2 others that saw accident happen can not place cause. Police also can not . No drinking, drugs, cell phones ect. At site 2 aditional tires defalted ,still on wheels, with only one rear wheel inflated, left rear, where car has little damage. Left front suspension is detached allowing wheel to turn hard to left and upward ,assumed to be accident damage, but did steering/ suspencion brake loose before accident ? is this a low profile performance tire/wheel accident ???.

2 Wheel problem of the 2008 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 11/14/2014

We own a 2008 Scion Tc and in the winter this car gets excessive snow and ice build up in the wheel wells and this becomes a safety issue when trying to turn. I am wondering if there has been any recalls for this car for this issue, the plastic used in the wheel wells seems to hold the snow and ice rather then falling off. Is their anything that you know of that could be done to remedy this issue? I have spoke with other scion owners and they have the same problem. Please reply with any suggestions or if their is a recall for this problem. Thank you,.

3 Wheel problem of the 2010 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 02/15/2014

Driving surface was paved dry two lane route. Speed approximately 40 miles per hour. Left rear tire catastrophically failed. The steel belled tread became totally (100%) detached for the interior side wall of tire. Tire was bridgestone turanza (t0506) el4pnz 215/45zr17. This is the second tire in less than a month that has had a side wall failure. I had already replaced a tire earlier in the summer of 2013 for side wall failure. Three out of four tires have had similar failures in less than a year.

5 Wheel problem of the 2007 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 02/10/2011

The rims on my scion/Toyota are cracking are causing the tires to leak air. I contacted scion/Toyota back in February 2011 about these rims cracking and was informed that they are not covered under warranty. Goodyear suggested that I contact mason welding company to have the wheels welded. I had to again replace the tires from goodyear because they were worn on the inside. Goodyear did stand behind the warranty on the tires but shortly after the rim starting leaking air again and my daughter got a flat tire. I was again informed that the rims were leaking. She when to firestone, and again was told that the rims were causing the tires to leak air. I had to have the rims welded again. I went to south caroline, where my daughter goes to college to bring her home. I drove the car back and now the rims are leaking again. I cannot believe that scion/Toyota can offer these wheels and then not assume any responsibly. This is very dangerous to have these rims on the road if they continue to cause the tires to go flat. I need your assistance in this matter, as I feel this is a major safety issue to have cars on the road that the rims are not strong enough to with stand our roadways.

6 Wheel problem of the 2005 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 01/01/2011

The tires on the scion have been replaced every 4 to 8 months. Toyota said its not their problem. I spoke to many mechanics and they do not know why the tires are breaking, they believe its the car design and the low profile tires. I do not speed and avoid pot holes. This is a major safety hazard.

7 Wheel problem of the 2007 Toyota Scion Tc

Failure Date: 04/10/2010

Driving on dry road at approx. 35 mph began braking to make turn into a parking lot. Road surface was somewhat rough but not extremely. Brakes failed to respond so I pushed pedal to the floor and they gradually slowed the car. I was not driving at an excessive speed nor being careless. As I turned into the parking lot at an excessive speed I almost hit a vehicle that was waiting to pull out on to the highway. Due to traffic conditions and the shock of what was happening I could not safely change my direction of travel and was committed to completing the turn into the parking lot.
