The air bag warning light has come on a few times and stayed on for about half a day, or a full day, before going off. This has happened a few times over the past couple of years. Because the light goes off, I have figured it was just an electrical malfunction and everything was fine. But I am concerned after seeing yesterday's recall notice about other Toyotas in which a problem with an electrical connection between the steering and air bags has meant that the air bags will not deploy. A warning light is associated with this problem. Do 2006 Scion Xas need to be included in the recall?.
The contact owns a 2006 Scion Xa. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph in snowy conditions on December 20, 2009, the vehicle suddenly slid off the road and crashed into a ditch. The air bags did not deploy. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. The current mileage was approximately 47,000.
