For the 3rd time in 18 months the clutch pedal sticks making the vehicle not drivable. The linkage has broken, or according to Toyota service representative, dirt has collected underneath the cable which prevents the clutch from engaging properly. This seems to occur after the vehicle has been parked, but I dread it occurring in traffic or on the freeway. After the first occurrence, it did happen after I left the freeway from just having it repaired. Every incident requires a vehicle tow.
Defective brakes or related problem with 2008 Scion Xb model. When vehicle comes to a stop, a loud, low/downward pitched sound occurs and it feels like either the brakes are grinding or something related to the drive train is having a problem. This is an intermittent problem, but occurs most often after the car has sit idle for awhile. Toyota technicians drove the car for 2 days and said they experienced/heard the problem, but were not sure what it was or how to fix it. They lubed the front brake glide pins and adjusted shim pan and charged me $120 even though the car is under warranty. Unfortunately that did not fix the problem and I am worried that the car braking system may fail while I am driving the car.
Sensor harness corrosion.
The car sustained a n l shaped crack in the windshield passenger side from no apparent impact . Clearly a design flaw and is likely to happen again according to how many people have complained about this .
