He reviewed recalls on the internet for his year make and model pertaining to those sold in or currently registered in the "salt states. " he stated that he drives the vehicle to new york often, which is one of the states listed in the recall. He was concerned with his safety because when driving under certain unique conditions in extremely low ambient temperatures, the intake manifold suction port for the brake vacuum could become blocked due to the freezing of condensation resulting from positive crankcase ventilation. He felt the recall should be extended to all states, keeping in mind that people travel and relocate to other states that are listed in the recall. There were no failures. The VIN was not accepted. The current mileages was 15,000.
My brakes on my 2009 Scion Xd started make noise at about 25,000 miles , brought to dealer . Was told that brakes go bad all the time at 25,000 miles. Well that's a red flag to start with. Then I was told that I must ride my brakes . I only have one leg so that would be very hard to do. They pulled my brakes off and found that I still had about 5mm of pad and my rotors needed turning and I needed new pads . Well I still had pads left but the rotors still needed turning. So I think that there is something wrong with the rotors to fail that fast and I was told that this happens all the time. It cost me 245. 21 to fix something that wore out way to soon invoice # [xxx] maybe there should be a recall on this before someone gets killed.
