5 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2019

Takata recall westbury Toyota has a 2011 Sienna le in silver on sale on their lot. I addressed them via email about my concerns on recalls specifically the takata airbag recall. When I entered the VIN on the nhysa website it showed one recall 1/9/2019 for airbag but no official recall number assigned to it yet. As soon as I emailed them back at night around 9 pm I noticed the recall notice had disappeared. The carfax also shows 1/24/2019 that manufacture maintenance was conducted. So all of a sudden at 9:30 pm they magically fixed the airbags!? I'm worried about the legitimacy of the fix they conducted and afraid someone might get injured should they buy this vehicle. Please investigate or reach out to them.

6 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2018

The occupant sensing system does not recognize that someone (full grown adult) is sitting in the passenger seat. This problem is identical to a previous recall (NHTSA campaign # 13v014000) Toyota says they do not have to fix it under the recall. Perhaps the recall does not cover all of the vins impacted.

9 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2017

This website and sent notices state that my 2011 Toyota Sienna is on takata airbag recall. When I just called boch Toyota south to schedule the recall and replace my airbags, the customer service representative said that the airbag recall is vehicle specific and my Mini van is not on their recall list, therefore I cannot get the safer airbags installed. I'd like to get this problem resolved and make my vehicle safer.

11 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2017

Takata recall: despite being in zone a, my local Toyota dealer (servco hawaii) says it will be many months before they can get to fixing my airbag (I waited on the phone for over an hour before they even answered my call). Given that zone a cars are at the greatest risk of accidental air bag explosion, and given that Toyota says that the front seat should not be occupied until the problem is fixed, it seems inadequate to just tell the consumer that they will get to it in a few (indeterminate) months. I would like my car fixed immediately.

21 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2017

Takata recall. . . Toyota said that it was dangerous and needed to be replaced and to not use the front passenger seat. This is an expensive family vehicle and not using the seats is unacceptable. I has been almost a year and still no remedy is available.

22 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2017

Takata recall- I received notice that my van's passenger airbag was defective and to not allow any passenger in my front passenger seat. I am in a priority geographical area due to heat and humidity. I received this notice almost a year ago. I bought a minivan because I use it to travel with the family. Not being able to use the van for this purpose, and knowing it is a safety hazard for this amount of time seems inordinate, inconvenient to say the least, and risky! when will Toyota have a fix?!.

24 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2017

Takata recall - I received my recall notice in June/July 2016. It's now been 8 months with still no eta on when my vehicle can be fixed. I'm making $500/mo payments on a van that I specifically bought for the seating and space among other capabilities. A couple of months of having the kids/guests sit in the back is one thing but 8 months is quite a long time and hearing rumors of another year of this is not good. Now I've received a recall notice on my automatic sliding doors and the workaround for that is to make everything manual until I get the okay to have it fixed, again, with no eta. Now, I'm driving around and can't put anyone in the front seat and have to have everything manual. I bought the xle model for the 8 seats because I need them and the automatic doors for the convenience and this is reflected in the price I paid for the car and the payments I'm making on it. Consumers need some type of eta or some type of compensation from either Toyota and/or takata. This recall/issue is of no fault of the consumer yet they are the ones being inconvenienced.

27 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2017

Takata recall - no dealer in my area was willing to provide me a loaner vehicle and the $35 per day from Toyota is not sufficient for me to rent another 7 passenger minivan or similar. Under my state's lemon laws in nc a company which is unable to fix the known issue with in 15 days is in violation of our lemon laws. My son has severe hemophilia any flying debris increases his risk to a catastrophic level and the solutions offered by Toyota are not reflective of their ability to pay for a suitable replacement vehicle. If I am not contacted within 48 hours or reasonable time I will pursue legal and class action recourse.

30 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/27/2017

Takata recall - the recall date is may of 2016 and the fix is still not available. In the mean time we are supposed to not allow anyone to ride in the passenger seat. We bought a Mini-van to be able to carry a lot of passengers! how long will we have to wait for a solution!!!.

31 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2017

We got a letter from Toyota saying advise is not to have anyone sit in the passenger side front seat due to dangerous air bag but no time mentioned. . . Only "when it becomes available" they'll contact us. I have a scooter in the back so this is a problem for me. Can you tell me when this will be fixed? we got the letter from Toyota today but it's been known to them since last year!thank you.

32 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2017

Takata recall we receive a recall notice for the takata passenger airbag in June 2016. We have followed the recall notice and have not had a passenger in the front seat. It has been over 6 months and there has been no repair for this recall. Just yesterday January 23, 2017 we received another recall notice for the electrical issue for the power doors and it instructed to shut the power off the power doors. After receving this notice the van itself is almost rendered useless with the exception of transporting driver. This is very unprofessional for Toyota to not quickly resolve these matters and provide customer service to thier customers regarding thier mistakes. There should be greater pressure on Toyota to quickly remedy these recalls.

35 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2017

Takata recall I urge the NHTSA to force Toyota to accelerate the remedy process with respect to the takata recall. I was first notified of the issue in may of 2016 and am still waiting for a remedy several months later. Every day Toyota delays fixing this issue puts my family at risk of a serious injury or death. Perhaps forcing Toyota to provide rental cars to those affected would help to expedite their role in this recall. Potentially having to wait till 2019 for a fix is entirely unacceptable.
