Seat Belt problem #1

Passenger side middle row seat belt has locked up fully retracted. Dealership service center stated on invoice, “nothing found to be causing the binding other than a mechanical issue, quoted replacing the seat belt assembly. ”.

Seat Belt problem #2

Water intrusion from front sunroof when vehicle is parked at a 5% grade with the nose downward. Multiple vehicles exhibit this issue. Toyota is not creating any TSB and will mot even remedy it even if we have an extended warranty. Here is a link to the discussion thread: [xxx] I have not posted on this thread but I have the exact same issue for years. Toyota dealerships want me to first pay $1000 in labor to pull down the headliner and test. Then ask the warranty to cover the assembly, if they don't cover it. . . Then I am on the hook for the work. The missing seam sealer is a common issue that will not manifest inside the 3yr / 36k mile warranty. My issue started around 2020 that I noticed and every dealership would not help me other than place a large burden on me. This can impact the electrical and the airbag curtains. The issue needs to have a seal sealer added to the sunroof assembly as the fix. As a family vehicle, this is a dangerous issue for multiple occupants in a single 7 or 8 person hauler minivan. Please ask Toyota remedy this issue that has been going on for over a decade. Please ask them to stop forcing customers to have sunroofs and panoroofs. . . When they can't build it correctly. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Seat Belt problem #3

Seat belt will not retract. No accident/collission. It seems the seat belt is defected and dealer refuses to correct, stating seat belt is out of warranty. My child pulled the seat belt to put it on and it just simply did not retract.

Seat Belt problem #4

3 issue with 5tdkk3dc2fs565851 Toyota Sienna 2015 le van *1 - seat belt - 2nd row driver side seat belt cannot be wear. Cannot wear seat belt as the red part that fastens the seat belt clip does not work. Unable to fasten seat belt in the 2nd row seat behind driver. 2* at 30,000 miles with proper careful driving brake lights turn on in rain - all the lights start to flash in dashboard. *3- front driver side bumber where it meets the fender does not hold bumper properly. The clips that hold bumper are not made properly. I have seen at least 4 Toyota Sienna with same issues at different places of same model / design. When push back to fix the number it stays and after short 5-10 miles drive it comes back loose again. So I have to keep pushing the bumper back. I have the van for over a year now.

Seat Belt problem #5

The rear most driver side seat belt was severely damaged by a steel bracket that holds the center seat/ middle seat on the 8 passenger model. This bracket is located behind the plastic covers. The steel bracket is razor sharp. The seat belt was severely cut. We can send pictures. The seat belt has been replaced by us. But other owners need to be made aware of this design flaw. Thanks.

Seat Belt problem #6

Shoulder straps of passenger mid-section seats have lost tension and do not reliably retract, possibly due to extended car seat installation (britax pinnacle clicktight, was installed for prolonged period in harness mode). Lack of shoulder strap tension is a severe hazard as I attempted to convert britax pinnacle clicktight to booster mode but found that child could loosen their shoulder strap and be sitting in booster mode seat with a loose shoulder strap that is not holding them tight and secure at the shoulder.

Seat Belt problem #7

2nd row seat belts bind and generally do not retract, even when seat is occupied. They remain loose and flop around and do not "snug up" against the occupant as every other seat belt does. Dealer says "all the Sienna's do that" because it's such a long belt - in fact he replaced the belt and the replacement does the same thing. This seems like a safety hazard since in the case of a wreck I worry that the seat belt may not retract correctly to restrain the occupant, or even if it retracts it may not be positioned correctly. Mostly the 2nd row belts are very loose and flop around unless an adult makes a conscious effort to slowly and very carefully feed the back into the reel.
